CHAZ/CHOP: Autonomous No Cop Zone and Commune Declared In Seattle - Render unto Warlord Raz what is owed to Warlord Raz

This is why we need Stand Your Ground laws in every state. And everyone needs to be educated on castle doctrine. Note, they're "McCloskey" not "McClusky."

This shit is why people shouldn't even live in the suburbs of absolute shithole cities like St. Louis.

That is a castle doctrine state. AFAIK they only seized the guns suspected of being used during the...incident (for lack of a better term) which is not an illegal seizure (had a warrant and such, didn't take more than needed).

I don't think a jury will ultimately convict, especially if any of the recordings support that they were being actively threatened. The DA is pursuing it purely for political reasons and that's clear as day.

But they (or at least she) did quite possibly violate their brandishing law (by aiming it and not firing). That's typically a no-go. I'm not aware of any state where brandishing is itself considered legal under any circumstances - just really difficult to prosecute since it's typically a win/win (no one killed and the victim unmolested).

The actual weapons seizure is probably because the weapons themselves are evidence but the fact charges were even brought at all is outrageous.

Unless lack of trigger discipline were a crime, in which case they should be charged with that.

Actually aiming at a person without firing would be a crime, since you can't really aim a firearm at someone unless you are going to pull the trigger (unless you're a cop, for...reasons). Or rather in order to even aim a firearm at someone legally it has to be a scenario in which actually pulling the trigger would be legal self defense. Which it hadn't yet escalated to (if someone from the crowd charged towards them, that would be the requisite escalation, or if someone in the crowd actually pulled. But at that point you don't just aim at them, you fucking fire because it's a deadly threat).

If they (or rather "she" since I'm not sure if he actually aimed his rifle at anyone) had merely had it out and at the ready, they'd probably still be charged cause the DA is doing it for political reasons, but there'd be no chance for a conviction. Since she did aim at people though, she's probably fucked.

The only people they actually aimed at were each other, though. Look at the video. They were idiots, absolutely terrible. They're not charged with that, though. They're charged with literally just defending their property. That shouldn't even be a thing you can be charged with, ever.

Didn't they already get the handgun back because it was INOP?
That niglet that got blown away by the cop because he pointed a toy gun (with the orange tip removed) in the park is always described as unarmed... so Karen is the same level of unarmed right?

A city councilman in Seattle is demanding they fire only white cops.

Wow.....
Wow... Herbold is a racist cracker huh?
This is the kinda ideology that formed the core of slavery. Send *insert lesser human* to do job that's too dangerous, dirty, menial to do yourself.

That's some highfalutin classism and racism, you got there, Lisa. :story:
Makes sense, the ideal of progressivism has to circle back around sometime.

She pointed directly at people several times, just not in the video posted above. They've got her doing it in pictures and other videos though.

*Edit* Looks like it'll never get that far. The Governor said if they get charged he'll pardon 'em since he doesn't believe they committed a crime.

Not the-area-formerly-known-as-CHOP, but our friends have decided to attack an Amazon Go store on the other side of the highway: https://twitter.com/PMBreakingNews/status/1284993060770844673

Editing to note that @Quixotic Man is a hero and backed this up in the 2020 Riots thread. Thanks also to @Vecr.
Shit is apparently already starting to pop off in Seattle.

Need to find a good livestream.

You know, for an "Anti-Bad Guy Squad" and "Peaceful Protestors" they've got a lot of lardasses who put signs in people's faces or charge up like water buffalo screaming "PUT YA FONE DOW!"

And is it just me, or when those fat white bitches come up and start shoving their signs in the way of the cameras do you wish the cameraman would just mace them right in the face or just "POW!" right in the fucking face.

What happened to hell's angels boasting to ride into CHAZ and take control? Was it just flexing?
It wasn't ever real. The footage of hundreds of choppers riding down the highway in formation being passed around was from an entirely different rally several months before the riots even started.

Assuming it wasn't just shitposting all along there might have been some confusion about the UK, where some bikers actually did tear up a protest around the same time.

Yes, it's called standing. You don't get to just go around suing the government because you don't like its decisions or have a low opinion of them, you actually have to demonstrate harm (in the vast majority of cases). Also legislatures are generally immune for nearly everything they do, and there are good arguments for this being the case but there are also reasonable arguments that some of these motherfuckers should be dancing on the gibbet.

You get a red X for "some."

The spirit of CHAZ lives on in Seattle. On Sunday in Westlake there were about a dozen officers beaten with baseball bats, lots of property damage including a wrecked Starbucks and a trashed Amazon Go store. Then protestors marched back up Capitol Hill and set the East Precinct on fire.

A crowd of protesters returned to the East Precinct Sunday night and Seattle Police reported broken windows and a fire that briefly burned inside the fenced-off building.

“The protesters broke out several windows of the East Precinct, then threw a device into the lobby that ignited a small fire,” SPD reported just before 6 PM. The fire was reported extinguished within minutes.

The crowd was part of groups reported marching through downtown and onto Capitol Hill through the afternoon.

Washington vote guides and mail-in ballots got sent last week. For those who dont know Wash state is 100% vote by mail. Seattle Kiwis, who you voting for?

How has SPD not gone on strike yet?

How has SPD not gone on strike yet?

no shit, just add that to the growing pile of confusing unanswered questions about this whole thing. Kind of related, the King County council is trying to change the county sheriff position to be under their thumb. So in a time when Seattle PD is being defunded and a huge chunk will quit or be laid off, King County sheriff department would be expected to pick up the slack, but then the King County concil wants to have control over the position again and be able to say what the department should be doing. Looks like the way SEattle PD has to answer to the mayor and the Seattle City Council, the King County council wants the same for King County sherrif department. The sheriff position has been a voter elected position since 1996, and currently I think the sheriff has autonomy in directing her staff.
