I hate how she's always described at the "socialist city council member." ALL of Seattle city council's members are either socialists or directly support socialist policies. There is 0 right wing dissent. Kshama is just the one that yells the loudest and gets the most press. Her absence won't affect city politics, nor will it sway the ideological leanings of the council. If she's removed, her replacement will govern in the exact same way, but will do so without as much media attention.

After a third day of ballot counting, the attempt to recall Seattle District 3 Councilmember Kshama Sawant is failing. The votes swung in Sawant's favor Thursday with a margin of 49.71% in favor of a recall and 50.29% against.

in Washington state we have voted by mail for a very long time. ballots are dropped off in batches, they are not "found", they simply are mailed in or put in locked ballot boxes. these are collected and held to be counted in batches, which extends the time it takes to count them here.

we do not rush through our elections or have to go stand in line. we register to vote with ID originally and update our address to stay registered and get ballot in the mail, to send back or drop off, in a double envelope.

I don't live in Seattle, but this is and has been the norm here for a long time. for an election like this exact one, this procedure has been in place since 1983. for other elections, since the late 90s.

I've been getting messages from a political group that's attempting to put socialists in elected positions that control the voting at a local level. They think I'm a socialist and are trying to gauge my interest in running for county auditor. All the literature they've sent me is unhinged TDS and they clearly want to put their finger on the scale in an attempt to stop "Republican voter fraud." I've been tempted to contact Project Veritas and pursue the opportunity.

I'm not gonna post everything they've sent me because I don't know if it could be used to identify me, but I did archive everything. This was the first link they sent after contacting me. I'm assuming they got my information because I've run for public office before.

Neither Patty Murray or Maria Cantwell are anywhere close to being regarded as "right wing". What pole have you been smoking?

The vote by mail system is rife with fraud. Power flexing here. I've seen it. First hand. At MBOS and the "Gary Ridgeway Building". In 2004, King County elections board literally took enough votes away from the Libertarian and GOP candidate to hand the Democratic candidate the win during the ballot reconciliation process. They also threw away thousands of ballots from oversea military voters.

Things have gotten even worse - and automated - since then.

You can see this with how Kshama Sawant's race turned out where - surprise, surprise - they were able to "turn out" just enough late ballots of "people" who somehow hadn't voted until 10 minutes before the polls closed. How convenient.

Can we get an audit of where those late ballots came from though? Who dropped them off? Where?

The only good news out of this is that even Democrats in Seattle who want Sawant recalled can see how rigged the electoral system is. Which is great. Seattle DESERVES Kshama Sawant.

I think cuddle striker meant the Representatives from eastern WA, Dan Newhouse and Cathy McMorris Rodgers. Newhouse voted to impeach Trump so I'm assuming that's not the "right wing" one.

Maybe, if they can break out of the conditioning and social pressure that electoral fraud is impossible because everyone with the ability to conduct it or hide it is an uncorruptible paragon of purity dedicated to the high ideal of democracy even when it produces results they don't agree with, and anyone who believes it happens is an insane conspiracy theorist on the level of Alex Jones. Even though that same conditioning and social pressure convinced a large amount of people, likely a majority in King County, that we just endured four years of tyranny by a murderous, hateful madman placed into power due to "election hacking" by a foreign power.
