An interesting thing about the CHOP is to suppose someone like this sues the city, cops, etc. Consider the following
Lawsuit plaintiff: I was denied service.
City/Cops etc: Nice try but you were in the CHOP, not the US and thus we don't need to serve you.
At that point, US courts need to decide whether the CHOP is an autonomous zone that is somehow distinct from US territory or a part of the US like any other part. I think it's safe to assume they will rule the latter and thus a lot of these lawsuits will succeed.
The other outcome is nightmarish because it implies that the CHOP was actually a distinct entity not under US control. At which point the US is fucked because any part of it can secede simply by having a bunch of people put up barriers and declare themselves an 'autonomous zone'. They don't even need to get the other people in that part to agree. In the case of CHOP, the demonstrators declared it, many of whom were not living in the area. The people living in the area were not consulted and the various
lawsuits and
protests against it make it seem like if they had have been consulted they would have opposed it.
So if the courts rule against the suits, it means that a bunch of anarchists can march into your neighborhood, declare it an autonomous zone, and at that point they can do anything to you, and US law enforcement will not intervene. This is the end of the US.
Actually abolishing the cops is the end of the US too because at that point you'd have no one to enforce tax collection or indeed any other law. Suddenly all law becomes more or less voluntary. Don't like the local gun laws? Break 'em! And in fact, if these autonomous or cop free zones are being declared in mostly Democrat run areas, the local gun laws are basically 'you can't have a gun'. So I'm guessing a lot of people are going to break them if AR-15 toting nutters move in and declare themselves the government and that you owe them reparations and/or taxes.
