Well, it seems to be the "play" to allow the leftists to sperg out as much as possible w/o threat of actual warfare for a few reasons.
a) Strength - Allowing Trump to show a display of force would be bad - it'd make him look like a problem solver.
b) Petty - The optics of unruliness and "It's just a protest bruh" whilst normies are on strict lockdown, frustrates Trump's "economic growth" election stand.
c) Cuntish - Durkin et al's "What, are you afraid of a little Democracy?" - they're playing the protests as democratic no matter how violent they get. Hence the constant, overused "But they're so peaceful!" trope.
d) Psychological - The optics of "In Trump's America, people MUST violently protest because this is how bad it is".
e) Stupid - They want police/counter protesters to fuck up and murder a bunch of nogs to make a statement, see above.
This is a similar tactic (albeit on a smaller scale) to what communist traitor Daniel Andrews is trying in Victoria, Australia. Though he has more clearly stated, nefarious goals to achieve.
Stopping Trump from action so they can later say "and what did Trump do?" ala the "Bunker Bitch" shit they tried to fling the other week, could be something, Biden is retarded enough to play that, but it'd be pretty weak.
That'd be my assessment. It's not a good plan, but it's clearly what they're aiming for. Democrats - the party of "democracy, tolerance, change and love" or some shit - the whole "room to destroy" idea.
I think they prefer the idea of a destroyed, burned, smashed America, than the idea of Trump asserting his authority as President. They want to cuck him as much as possible.
Esper could be "against" it because he understands the optics of it, but I doubt it. The warhawks are against it because they're already pissed at Trump for pulling troops out of the ME and disturbing their little pay for play scam they had going on over there.
This is their reality however. A bunch of violent, retarded thugs that clearly demonstrate that their version of restorative justice and community policing would look exactly like this. No wonder the MSM won't report on it.
