CHAZ/CHOP: Autonomous No Cop Zone and Commune Declared In Seattle - Render unto Warlord Raz what is owed to Warlord Raz

Where have Raz and his crew gone? Sounds like there's another troublesome black man for them to take care of.

Raz is just out there being Raz as I posted here, you can hit him up on facebook.

Since CHAZ is dead, should be make this "General Pacific Northwest Protest Shenanigans"?

Thats a good thought but I think focusing on Seattles stuff important. CHAZ hapened here because of the special environment that Seattle is. And if youlook underneath the circus of CHAZ, there are all these callbacks and intertwined narratives with Seattle politics and recent history.

Like how K Wyking Garett, the president of Africatown taking over the old Keiro building and one of the leaders of the BLM is the son of Omari Tahir-Garett who is a candidate for governor and told Eisenberg, owenr of Uncle Ike's pot store which has their flagship at 23rd & UNion in the Central District (now gentrifying but a formerly Black and before that Jewish neighborhood due to redlining), which used to be the worst intersection in Seattle with murders and essentially an open drug market and is now all luxury apartment buildings, to go on "to Germany" and get the "Nazis up on him", is the same Omari Tahir-Garrett who smashed former mayor Paul Schnell in the face with a megaphone, the same Paul Schnell who lost his job almost 20 years ago for racial riots, except at the time it was blacks assaulting whites during Mardi Gras and killing a white kid who was trying to stop a sexual assualt.

Like how Sawant is trying to violently tear down Amazon even CHAZ 1.1 was uprooted and moved itself over to SEattle Central College where she used to be a professor, the same college which has a self-proclaimed 'angry black woman' as president, who had to call on the very police force theyre all trying to defund to come and move the protesters camping homeless off the campus because of excessive human waste. The same kind of camping homelss and degenercy that was a big part of South Lake Union before Amazon moved in around 2010 and cleaned up the whole place, priming it for Google and others to also move in and propel Seattle to the wealthiest heights its ever seen, which drives Sawant crazy, becuse they want low-cost housing and rent control and believe that homeless people just need to be given their own craftsman houses to magically stop abusing drugs and alchohol.

This shit echoes through time, and is very Seattle specific. As a long time Seattle person I am glad there is a thread where not just the crazy happenings of CHAZ is discussed, but all the stuff going on around and the specific Seattle things that made it even possible. Seattle is very special snowflake, a very special urban lolcow, and deserves its own thread.

Also fuck Portland.

What exactly separates Portland from Seattle in terms of character? They both have the same overlap in being Northwestern major cities and Antifa breeding dens. Just that I notice that compared to Seattle, Portland seems to be somewhat more...'rustic' in its own way if that's the word for it

Locals please correct me on both, but my basic understanding is:
  • Seattle holds the pretense of having their shit together (history of being a port town and home to companies like Boeing every before Microsoft and Amazon showed up); Portland takes pride in being "weird" and "quirky". Businesses just need to deal with it.
  • Seattle has more suburbs and sister-cities nearby, Portland is the only "big city" in her area.
  • Seattle is more touristy, and in so the locals realize how bad the homeless look, Portland don't give a fuck.
  • Both rainy, but Seattle is on the ocean and Portland is on a river to the recreational activities are different.

Starting in '95, Portland's motto was "The City That Works." It used to be on the sides of all the service vehicles, but it's been a while since I saw it. Nike has their world HQ near Portland, and Intel has a major presence as well.
Portland has good-sized cities in all 4 cardinal directions (Vancouver, Gresham, Oregon City/Clackamas/Milwaukie, Beaverton). Vancouver, WA is sometimes called "the second largest city in Oregon."
Seattle's homeless problem is probably larger.

Seattle's actually in a rain shadow and gets less overall rain/year than NYC (there's a fuckoff big mountain between the city and the ocean). It's just cloudy all the time and will drizzle for the entire day. A big sign that someone's a transplant/tourist is if they're carrying around an umbrella, because it rarely rains hard enough to need one.

The Seattle-Portland city rivalry is basically analogous to the San Francisco-Berkeley/Oakland rivalry in the Bay Area. Seattle's the "pretty" city surrounded by lakes and mountains and rows of old craftsman houses, populated by well-off white champagne socialists and a growing underclass of color, obsessed with wokeism and surface-level diversity, much like San Francisco. Down south, you have Portland, the cheaper city with a more recent working class background, full of the ideological lefties playing at revolutionary, and spending most of its time grumbling about gentrification, just like East Bay. The only spot where the analogy breaks down is that East Bay is where San Francisco shipped all their minorities back in the day and is consequently quite diverse, while Portland's even whiter than Seattle.

Local radio is reporting a leak of documents from the King County Executive's office (Dow Constantine) outlining a plan to close Seattle area jails based on the concept that the exclusively liberal controlled justice system in Washington is systemically oppressive to brown people. Im on my phone and at a clients house, otherwise I'd look them up and post the documents.
I'm back, and I brought sauce.

I was a little skeeved but was whatever when I thought they were abolishing jails, but now that they're getting rid of prisons as well??

Wait hey, does that mean people who went to prison for having a gun are now able to be freed? :cunningpepe:

Also good job Seattle, I don't know how Portland will be able to top this. Though it is Current Year, so I will most likely soon eat my words.

So like, what's their plan to replace prison? Are they just gonna let the dogs out in the streets? I can't think of a single developed nation that doesn't have prisons, and the ones that don't usually just kill their criminals. What the hell is wrong with Seattle?

"Community organizations", social workers, public housing, and free healthcare solve crime. Haven't you heard?

Breaking news, kids! Washington governor Inslee just extended the COVID restrictions "indefinitely": https://twitter.com/waEMD/status/1288266628505808896
Idk if the people of Seattle are that cucked but an indefinite restriction is fucking crazy. If you're gonna extend it, at the very least give a date so you can review the situation and see if it's still necessary. Making it indefinite feels kinda tyrannical.

Remember that the Patriot Act and all the post-9/11 "emergency powers" were supposed to expire after 5 years.

CALLED IT. I knew Inslee was going to do this. I fucking knew it. But "Peaceful Protesters" can stay close to each other and destroy cities all they want (some bitch in the Twitter responses even gives the excuse that "they wear masks and are outside", never mind how idiotic that is).

Fuck Inslee, fuck Olympia, and fuck Seattle.

And I am sure all the peaceful protesters will respect the order.
Remember it's not them who are killing grandma, it's the people who are going to church. Covid dont spread to those who are on the right side of history.

Then I hope the "journalists" and "peaceful protesters" get Corona-chans kiss. Then I can point and laugh "You are defintely on the wrong side honey"
