Chinese historical research is the most developed in the world, thanks to China having the most complete form of historical records in the world. In ancient China, historians could record all aspects of a dynasty's history in one book. Therefore, those historians only needed 26 books to record all aspects of China's history from the primitive era to the Qing Dynasty

Chinese history is much less studied outside of China and in China it is quite politicized by the singular force of the PRC. Thats why you get ridiculous things like napoleonic era sized armies in BC era China regularly clashing and nobody questions it and much of what makes it here is very shallow. Its a shame because china along with the Mediterranean was one of the only two major centers of civilization in the ancient times. I'm tired of trolling through youtube looking for a good video and its just rome this and greek that.

Chinese history has never really been my thing so I was a bit surprised to not find one readily available online, usually Latin and Greek texts have two or three readily available online you can read. I've got links to the original Chinese text I just need the English translation and Google translate seems to be failing me.

The Book of the Later Han is written in Classical Chinese, equivalent to the ancient Latin version of the Twelve Caesars, which cannot be translated by Google Translate. But I'm trying to write some ancient Chinese history here, you can go and take a look later

Problem with ancient history books has always been that before the oral history was written down it got broken telephone'd to shit adding some personal flair depending on the story teller. From the primitive times to paper i mean, later on there are more sources where you can piece it together.

I wouldn't trust any history books if the CCP is involved though, they might select pieces here and there to suit their agenda and during cultural devolution they destroyed multiple historical sites. They are like ISIS destroying their own heritage because of bullshit reasons.
