Chinese Name Help

What's your wife's name? You could do worse than to have a matching name
otherwise, take something similar to your real name or use one from 易經

The Chinese character for Russia appears to be 俄. It consists of parts which separately mean "person" + "some particular type of ancient weapon" and means "suddenly"; it's used in some Japanese names so can't be all that bad.
The Chinese character for Finland appears to be 芬. It consists of "grass", "cut"->"eight" and "blade" and means "fragrant". Probably not very manly.

Seriously: get a dictionary app (your wife can help you). Then either
- look for cool-looking characters with good meanings which are used in names and pick a name, or
- find out what your wife's relatives are named (father, grandfather), look up the meanings of characters, pick a name with these characters.
Then transliterate your candidate name to English and check that it doesn't have undesirable meanings in a language that matters.
Sanity check with your wife.

A few warnings:
Japanese names are not great to go off of if you're in mainland China, since there's been massive shifts since they adopted Chinese characters. And for that matter, they name their kids differently: I once knew a man named Hideki, written 瑛貴, which in Chinese would one of the most feminine names I've ever seen.
I've seen 芬 in women's names, never in men's. 俄 (ò) is short for 俄羅斯 (Olos, meaning Russia), but it sounds exactly the same as 惡 (evil). Always be careful for puns. Accidental puns often cause issues, especially with more superstitious people.
The best you can do is find something that "matches" with your wife's name, or go by sound with your real name, but be careful which characters you use, and don't be afraid to change a sound if you need to avoid a pun.
If you do want to use Sisu, a movie called this is written as 西蘇.

I've given it some thought and I've got a few suggestions.

毛天宇 Mao Tianyu -
毛 is feathery/Russian
天 is sky/heaven and
宇 is feathery. (It's a gender neutral name)

邓峰鹏 Deng Fengpeng. -
邓 is a surname and a homonym of climb
峰 is mountain peak.
鹏 is an impressive bird (and a common male name)

罗鹤鸣 Luo Heming
罗 is a surname, and the second character of 俄罗斯。
鹤 is crane bird
鸣 is resonance/sound. 鹤鸣 is cranesong.

None of them sound unnatural or feminine but check with your wife as I grew up outside of China.

These names sound very Teochew for some reason, especially 羅鶴鳴
These feel like winners

If you want serious advice, @Nigonidas, isolate the etymological root of your Russian/Finnish name and find an equivalent translation in Old Chinese (Alexander -> defender of men, etc.)

Do not settle for something as lazy as phonetic transliteration.
See I tried that but I struggled to find with fertility and harvest that sounded right.
And yeah no way not being lazy.

My wonderful friends, I have settled on Zhang Tianyu 张天宇.
according to the records there's only five people in china registered with my name!
Thank you for all your help and the laughter along the way. I welcome this as a Chinese shitposting subforum from here out!

in that case:

結果梨子就輸了
