"Us against the world" has literally dwindled down to two people in a room.

I feel like there's a Russian novel begging to be written about this.

You gotta wonder what they do all day every day. Must be like a Twilight Zone episode in 14 Branchland.

Chris demonstrates his Kimmi techniques.

Chris probably goes out a few times a day to get food, seeing as the fridges of 14BC, while operational, are buried too deeply to access, and so are the microwaves, stoves, etc. Can't feed Mommy a cold q-sand now, can we?

.... You know, I just realized: When they lost power during that hurricane, everything in the refrigerator and freezer must have spoiled. And it's probably still in there.

The food that was already spoiled from when the couldn't open the fridge because of the hoard? I'm thinking they haven't cleaned out or thrown anything away in those fridges in years. Such a thing could be a source of infestation.

I'm sure it had gone "off" long ago, but not necessarily "left out to fester for days in the hot Virginia summer" off until then. And the freezer stuff was probably reasonably well-preserved till that fateful day too.

Given that we never heard Chris whine about the hard labor of putting all the spoiled food in a bag and throwing it in the trash, I'm sure it never happened. GodBear knows he squeezed enough mileage out of the last time he had to.

Only two houses have direct line-of-sight of the Chandler's front yard and cars. Everyone else has obstructed views, or no doors/windows facing. The owners are all 50+, but some homes have a younger generation (a few 20~30 somethings) living with their parents. For the most part, they are all aware of some of Chris' antics through postcards and pictures being sent to them via first class mail. Most received notification of Chris and Barb's arrest and pending trial.

Woah. I knew about the neighbors getting mail from the trolls, but nothing about trolls sending them mail about the arrest.

I think this is the room that Chris is staying in now. Usually he keeps all of his lego shit in his room, but now it's in what I think is the music room (which Chris said his Mom sleeps in).

Oh wow, I had not realized this! I was too bust laughing over the Lego pictures in the leak that I had not noticed the wood paneling on the wall. I don't think Chris ever had any in his room, right? He had a lot of crap but I think the walls behind them were just plain white, wood paneling is something you usually only see in basements anyway. I can't imagine how it would be playing with Legos while Barb is watching...

Yeah... I don't really think that is his room, isn't it?

Maybe they really do just hang out together for long amounts of time these days, which isn't really a good thing to me. Even the best of friends need a break from each other once in awhile.. And from what I noticed in his latest post, it seems she is FINALLY beginning to get on his nerves. Back then in the early days, their relationship was somewhat in the positive area, back when she simply laid there and let him goof off at will.. But with all the crap that has been happening, it's beginning to drop into the negative area now that she has begun to nag him, even going so far as complaining about his choice of interactive media.

Judging from the description of 14BC last month that was given in another thread (tall grass, the hoard extending well into the yard, and the Aerostar, the Mitsubishi, Bob's tractor and Son-Chu & possibly the Honda, presumably being gradually swallowed by the hoard), I bet they are getting sick of looking at it. I'm personally reminded of 14BC every time I drive by a hoarder house or a foreclosed house with an unmowed lawn, of Snyder and THe GAMe PLACe when I see the downtown hobby store or a Ford Aerostar, and of Chris-chan every time I see a Ford Escort, Mitsubishi Mirage or Cadillac Seville. :medallion:

The hoard spilling out shall first consume Branchland Court and then Ruckersville and that is the way the world shall end. Not with a bang but a 'Hmm'

What other lolcow, I ask you, has fans who casually quote TS Eliot? (Unless you're making the case that his BFF Ezra Pound was a lolcow, but I think the late gentleman was more like a shuddercow, some sort of creepy clown... Pennywise, Pound foolish?)

Only Christian Weston Chandler, unless you count CWC fans who also have other pet lolcows (I'm also into Nick Bate and Amy's Baking Company now that DrMusic2 is no longer relevant or even much of a lolcow anymore and CWC has become more of an annal of internet history than a lolcow)

And Nick Bate is an anal of internet history. *rimshot.wav*

I know that White Knighting is unfashionable, but I wish them a way to find a decent grief counseling program and the appropriate course of treatment of words and antidepressants to get them through this. I spent six weeks never leaving my home under these exact mental circumstances, I was in physical pain and drowning in sadness over what was left undone. Thank God I found the right help and a doctor who listened to me, I honestly do believe they saved my life. I wish I could tell the Chandlers the same thing.

There are a few real problems there. Blarb has refused to allow Chris the help he needs his entire life, she seems to have a serious fear of psychologist and psychiatrists.

This is something that probably wont be hugely popular. Personally I do think that Chris really misses having Bob around because they used to do a lot of things together and his death has left a large hole in Chris's life. However, I don't think that he misses him out of love because Chris has no concept of other people being separate entities in their own right. I think Bob gave him some structure to his days but if Chris had other people to fill that void he wouldn't be hugely bothered that it wasn't his Father.

I think Bob's death has left a HUGE hole in both Christian and Barb's lives. The quality of life the Chandler family was used to prior to Bob's death was pretty bad, but it seems it's become so much worse. Neglect is the biggest issue they're facing:

-neglect of the property lead to a hoarding and infestation problem, negatively affecting the family's health, well being, and home value.
-neglect of Christian's needs as an autistic, leaving him unfunctional, unhappy, depressed and a menace to his community
-neglect of the family's finances, leaving the Chandlers amassed with high end electronic toys but at the cost of failing vehicles, poor nutrition and poor hygiene.
-neglect of Christian's poisonous social skills that caused online infamy, constant harassment and run ins with law enforcement

Bob's death was probably processed as a warning to the 2 remaining Chandlers. Bob lived life like they do, and his was cut short unexpectedly. Barb may be in a worse mental state than Chris at this point, it just depends on how accustomed Barb is to living the way she is right now. The stories of eating old McDonald's food in another restaurant sound pretty low to me. I'm thinking Barb is worried that Christian will bring even more sadness and despair to her doorstep if she doesn't keep him on the shortest leash possible. The damage is done though, I really doubt Barb can reverse any of Christian's negative aspects at his advanced age. I wonder if she just stares in awe at what a fucking disaster her son grew up to be.

As humorous as the Barb/Chris incest jokes are, I honestly don't ever see them doing hanky panky in real life. They may be living very closely now, but I don't see them ever having any sexual thoughts about one another.

I doubt it. She seems to be even more delusional and in denial than Chris is. They're both doomed to using their last breath blaming the world for all of their self-inflicted stupidity.

There was that one time Chris spoke of his sexual fantasy about Barb as a belly dancer, which still makes me want to stick a skewer into my eye-socket and swish it around till I destroy the brain matter that retains that information.

Yeah. I don't think Barb ever contemplates Chris's personal situation much outside of how it affects her. She's probably mad that he embarrasses her, but that's as far as it goes.
