I know right? What outright shocked and disturbed me as a very naive 15 year old back in 2007 now just makes me go "Yup, that's a thing he did." I think it also has a lot to do with how the internet's changed and the amount of retards doing stupid shit multiplied tenfold. If Chris was discovered ten years later he wouldn't have had as much of an impact, if at all.

I just got all caught up and I definitely think it's hit a rough patch, but Geno's dedication to being thorough really gives a lot of payoff when a crazy new saga starts. So many crazy things with Chris seem out of nowhere but actually had clear precedence. I started it around the time episode 50 dropped and I am looking forward to the Doopie Saga starting in the next one.

That's so true, I remember how beyond the pale crap like SheCameForCWC was, but now it's quite tame compared to revenge porn and the like. All the incel shit with him was the same way, and now it's almost quaint compared to the larger incel ideology. If he was discovered even five years later it wouldn't have had such an impact, Sonichu would've been just one of countless cringey ass things found on Deviantart and / or Tumblr and probably wouldn't stand out enough to be singled out by trolls. It's crazy to think he hosted it all on his own website, that's not really a common thing anymore. Chris really is a microcosm of internet history
