Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

I've just started watching the series, and I'm on part 9. I never followed Chris so I'm really surprised there can be 14 30-40 min videos about a single year of a man's life. I bet it was even better following it week by week.

I've been following Chris for about a decade now and it's been fun to follow Geno's documentary and revisit this stuff I haven't thought much about in several years. It was a simpler, comparatively innocent, and much less :horrifying: time.

THE FACEPAINT VIDEO! All these years I've been thinking it was some autistic guy fawks getup because up until now I had never actually seen the video, just the screenshot. I know the paint is yellow now but I always thought it just LOOKED yellow because of the piss yellow filter his camera always gave his videos back then. I never could find the video cause I always searching for the wrong thing! I thought he had tried to do some sort of Jenkins Jinkies-esque Anonymous video.

But nope. All this time it was a music sing a long video with absolutely horrifying sonichu facepaint. This no doubt is what that one kid Chris scared at that Wendy's must still see in his nightmares to this very day.

When I discovered that Chris-Chan was a Brony, I really wasn't surprised. But I had no idea the guy was a juggalo. That seems completely out of left field, even for him.

During the earlier years, CWC always seemed to latch onto whatever was popular at the time in addition to his autistic likes and Borb's handmedowns. He's a very peer influenced sponge.

Listening and watching to Chris play with his lego sonichu and rosechu makes me think "Wow, he must have been dropped like a brick on a regular basis as a child". Never once had I ever cringed as hard at anything Chris has ever done, somehow.

I think it was a troll who got him to do it because they thought it was funny. Chris' music taste seems heavily influnced by Bob so a lot of classics and oldies. It honestly looked it was his first time even hearing the song.

Chris continually uses LEGO representations as therapy. Either making characters apologize to him, or living out some sort of fantasy like his recreation of his old high school.

I agree with this I don't think Chris was ever really a juggalo, he never seemed interested in that kind of music and the video(s) where he does do references or sings juggalo songs its because he's being trolled. Though Chris probably does recognize ICP from pop culture references about them around that time period.

So Chris acknowledges his delusions are basically Roger Rabbit. I've never heard the Alec calls before, but this are interesting, especially under the light of the merge. I guess this Ben guy making buck out of his cartoons could probably troll Chris telling him that his OCs have decided to work with him or something.

Hearing Chris panic over other people messing up his characters really drives home the delusion of them being real. He actually sounds scared over Alec making them do things they wouldn't want to do.

I was starting to get bored of this one because it was more video and less narrative, but near the end got my attention.

Riiiiight well..it's working pretty well.

The call where Chris starts letting it known he believes cartoon/comic are real so Chris has been loony for a long long time. Then he uses the old "I'm tired bye" line when caught in a lie. Now he just has Magichan tell people on Twitter something is fated and is different in this reality.

It's been a hot minute since I've listened to the Alec phone calls. The second one is painful, and from what I remember, they just keep gettin' worse.
Even though it's been said a million times, Chris' constant sighing gets really fuckin' annoying.
Also, you gotta love that whole "My mommy thinks I make the best comics and she thinks yours suck!" he throws towards Alec. Like damn, chill.

I love how chris dedicates hours whining at my nigga @Alec Benson Leary rather than keeping up with sonichu deadlines. The complaints about how he's not a fat fuck anymore as asperchu is depicted is great, as well.

Given the Alec calls presented in the recent episode, I honestly now believe Chris had the dimensional merge idea on his own and the idea guys were just suggesting something edgy like mass genocide or something to have it happen

Agreed - I do feel that Gino puts a bit too much time on the calls, when he could just summarise what happens for the majority of the conversation, then place an emphasis on the whole dimensional merge connection thing.

At this point in the series we know Chris is getting constantly trolled and Alec's technique can be summed up in a few sentences. But thats just my opinion.

I think the Kacey's Dad calls got long and repetitive and should have been cropped. However, the Alec calls were very revealing. Each call he played back had new info, especially showing how far long ago he actually believed in Toontown and stuff like that. We have people today saying "nah he doesn't really believe that shit" but in reviewing the Alec calls, it seems to me that he does.
