Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

Agreed - I do feel that Gino puts a bit too much time on the calls, when he could just summarise what happens for the majority of the conversation, then place an emphasis on the whole dimensional merge connection thing.

At this point in the series we know Chris is getting constantly trolled and Alec's technique can be summed up in a few sentences. But thats just my opinion.
I disagree. I'd even say the Alec calls are one of the most important things for people to be exposed to. What Alec does is very similar to what Kacey did, minus the inherent dishonesty and cruelty. Walk Chris through point by point, supported with examples, of the flaws in his thinking and behavior. Try to inject some reality into his fantasy and coax him into self reflection and improvement. The result is that it all flows around Chris like air. He limply apologizes when pressed hard enough in the hopes the other person will just shut up and forget about it. When presented with facts and talked into a corner he makes an excuse and flees.

They are prime examples of Chris being given real insight and advice and completely rejecting it to his detriment. One of Geno's stated goals in the documentary intro is to help people understand why Chris is the way he is and how he got where he is in life. The Alec calls are like a microcosm of Chris' life, showing pretty definitively his own culpability in his many problems. So yeah honestly I feel they're pretty important for people to hear, especially for those who might lean towards giving Chris the benefit of the doubt or seeing him as a victim.

Given the Alec calls presented in the recent episode, I honestly now believe Chris had the dimensional merge idea on his own and the idea guys were just suggesting something edgy like mass genocide or something to have it happen
I dunno, I don't think Chris has these ideas on his own. He's just really receptive to them. Like he was parroting Who Framed Roger Rabbit in his beliefs about toons being real. If Chris had the dimensional merge idea on his own, he would have brought it up before he started talking to people whose game was manipulating his view of reality.

I think what they’re trying to say isn’t so much that he believed in the merge as he did Alternate Dimensions inhabited by Fictional Characters that have personal autonomy. The reason I’m saying this is something I brought up recently about him raging over bullies telling him Sonic is dead and him channeling Sonichu while talking to MLW. I’m not saying he had a coherent theory on this by any stretch, I’m just saying he likely did believe it on some level and that overtime the lines between these realities have blurred to where they’re all in the same dimension and now the lines are blurring that these dimensions will eventually become part of our own.

EDIT: but I do believe that Joshua Wise very much reinforced it and put the specific language he needed to convince him of it and invented a terminology for it and made it worse than it was before.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say because there have been people who acted like Chris had never believed in the toontown stuff till the Idea Guys gave him the idea.

I just finished watching this one. It was somewhat meh and boring. Too much focus on the phone conversations. I never cared much for the Asperchu comics, since the style kind of is rather eh.

I do admire that Alec tried to help Chris. Chris acting like his characters are real way back then is truly damning in my opinion.

Agree with the Alec part. As for Asperchu, I can't say it didn't make me laugh my ass off.

Wise exploited Chris's existing crazy beliefs and reinforced them. He always believed his characters were real - see the massive drama over Asperchu, where he believed @Alec Benson Leary was actually hurting his characters in some way by parodying them - and Wise knew that and ran with it, leading Chris further down the path of delusion he was already on. It's similar to the fake girlfriend trolling attempts people used to make; Chris was a pathetic, horny wretch so people exploited it to make him look even more preposterous.

This one is interesting in light of more recent events. Chris when faced with copyright issues took it took the next level by making his infringements into a religion. That takes it out of the legal realm and makes it ethical and moral. Stealing and using characters without permission don't exist in religion.

The chris on the phone/discord is an apologetic pussy, the chris on youtube pretends to be this threatening badass.

The barb impression was a trick he learned from blue spike.

Holy fuck that barb impression was priceless
I've heard better Barb impressions squeezed thru two buttcheeks

Dunno if I just wasn’t paying attention or if I didn’t have my volume high enough but the first time I listened through the Alec calls, I didn’t realize Chris faked being Barb. So when Alec called him out on it, I was really confused. Of course when I went back to that call and heard it a second time, I wondered how I could be so exceptional to fall for it.

Yeah, to be honest, the call dialogues are the meat of the whole thing. That's how it all came about – Chris interacting with these people, what was said, what was written; all the words that were exchanged. I mean, there was all the graphic pr0n too, but still...

Aaand in the spirit of Chris, gonna just slap down a copypasta of what I posted to that other forum earlier 'bou 'dis:

Seeing the latest Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History installment, I have renewed appreciation for Asperchu!Papa taking absolutely none of Chris's shyte. (And his slow descent from most sane and respectful 'adversary' Chris has ever conversed with aside from Liquid Chris to 500% Done.)

Highlights include:

Alec:Chris, why is parody and plagiarism, why are those okay for you to do but they're not okay for anyone else to do? Will you tell me that?
Chris: Hmm... (×2) Okay, I guess I cannot think of...a good answer for that.

Alec: Not really that hard to do. I mean, Simonla hasn't even appeared in your comic recently, so it's not like you're-you're gonna hurt your plotline if you just issue an admission that you're not gonna use her anymore.
Chris: Well, I'll think about that.
Alec: Not good enough. My ads aren't going down unless you say yes to that. That's one of my conditions.
Chris: Yeah. Anyway, yeah, I will think about that.

Alec: I'm not gonna consider doing a damn thing for you until I see this apology video and I'm satisfied with it.
Chris: Alright y-you will see the apology video. And, uh, I'll have it uploaded tonight.
Alec: Tonight, tomorrow, whenever you want. It's your sched-
Chris: OK, alright, I gotta go. Alright, I gotta go now. You take care, bye-bye.

Alec: I used to kinda sympathize with you about how Mao was being mean to you, but then I realized that, uh, you're a bully and you don't respond to anything except, uh, you know, mean things like that. U-Uh -- Now I kinda think Mao had the right idea. 'Cause I was trying to be nice to you and all you did was insult me. (Emphasis mine, and Chris's biggest problem in a nutshell, yeah?)
Chris: No, you misunderstand me. I am not a bully.
Alec: Oh y- oh, you're not? Death threats, that's not the work of --
Chris: Yes, I am not a bully.
Alec: You are a troll, though. That's for certain. (No, Chris, you are the trolls.)
Chris: I am not a troll.
Alec: Oh bullshit! Bullshit!
Chris: Although I did -- although I do admit I --
Alec: Ever since Asperchu appeared, you've been doing nothing but trying to shut me down. Just like the trolls that try to shut you down. But the Great Christian Weston Chandler, he is -- he's perfect, you know. Nobody can attack him or parody him, but if someone else dos something that he doesn't like, doesn't matter if it has nothing to do with him... well, there's gonna be hell to pay.

And then...

Chris: Uh, excuse me a moment. Yes?
Chris (as Barbara): Hey! Hey Christian, listen. I need you to go clean up Kitty's poo in the kitchen.
🤣
