Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

The trouble is different people find different things interesting.

The best approach seems to be deduplication. So if Chris says/does the exact same thing more than once, then just acknowledge that it happened rather than going into detail again, and point out anything that made the event different.

Anyway I think you're doing a great job. Your harshest critics are going to be those who are deepest in the lore and thus are already jaded and unimpressed by all but the most extreme of Chris' antics, whereas it's all new information for normies.

I've been thinking about this for quite some time and today I finally decide to share some thoughts on the series. I apologize if I seem a-loggy, it's not my intention to do so.

While I respect geno's dedication, I just can't help but think that he is still very far off from being able to produce an actual documentary that would be worthwhile to watch if you're not already into Chris Chan.
Documentaries usually have inputs from other parties and package it into a video that perhaps lends you new insight to the matter at hand, or that the director has a message to state regarding the matter. That, to me, is one of the reasons why I enjoy watching documentaries.

However, despite me having the drive to watch the entire series back to back, I find his series lacking in the additional input mentioned. Its essentially just a chronical of the cwcki and this forum with a rather monotonous narration for somewhat easier digestion of the sprawling information already on the web, although one could argue that the 64 episodes and counting series is not really that much more manageable for most. There's no interviews, no arguments to be made, and to put it bluntly, he might as well just read the articles and show the media on it and it will be about on par with what Geno is making. Its nothing wrong about the format, but rather I just don't feel like I'm watching something that makes me think about Chris from new perspectives. There's no argument to be made for or against him. There's just...nothing more other than what's already known. I honestly think that his popularity only stems from the fact that nobody would be insane enough to read out literally the whole life of someone, not from the quality of his series.

I honestly think that sachumo did a better job. He found someone that's (somehat) an expert and had some analysis on Chris, which i find more interesting albeit its small coverage of Chris's life.

Thanks for reading my insane schizo rambling.

No, it's fine. You made your arguments and you weren't mean about it.

Except the proof is in the pudding. Geno's documentary has been watched by many, many people who'd never even heard of Chris before, and a fair amount of the new users that have joined the farms in recent years are people who heard about Chris from some random mention online, or a TV news report (more recently) and then went to the documentary to learn about him.

And really, it's hard to summarize Chris in a short format. Chris is an iceberg that could sink entire continents.

Documentaries usually have inputs from other parties and package it into a video that perhaps lends you new insight to the matter at hand, or that the director has a message to state regarding the matter. That, to me, is one of the reasons why I enjoy watching documentaries.

And this is an absolutely valid point. Geno doesn't do original research, instead he stands on the shoulders of other Christorians who have documented everything in the CWCki. And that's fine. Not all documentaries do original research -- and at a point where all primary sources are dead almost all documentaries are based entirely on others' research.

And frankly the CWCki is so thorough, it would be incredibly hard to do your own without a large budget to persuade people to do original interviews, etc. There was that one docu that managed to get ahold of Megan, for instance, and that failed.

and to put it bluntly, he might as well just read the articles and show the media on it and it will be about on par with what Geno is making.

And this is where I hard disagree. CWCki-reading videos are always very awkward and sound strange, because spoken language and written language in an article are very different. Geno is basically translating the CWCki articles for a different medium, and excising the opinion portions of them into a less-biased form.

Sorry if this isn't the place for this and if I am late (I'll take my clocks) but is Geno a tranny now?

I've checked all of his media accounts and he hasn't said anything, so this is either an "out of season" April fools joke or "Being In Japan for more than 2 seconds Syndrome" is a real thing

A lot of geno’s commentary comes in the form of visual gags or subtle editing jokes. His goal is to portray everything as objectively as possible, but you can definitely see his personality shine through certain parts.

He MIGHT have trooned out. He changed some of his profile pics on YT to a troony version. We will see.
Probably did it ironically, I don't think he genuinely trooned out.
