Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

I thought Bob's biggest fear was Chris going to the asylum, and it ended up coming true. Somewhat.
Bob's not forgotten, but for the wrong reasons. He'll always be remembered for bad parenting that lead to a well known obnoxious, malicious, deviant, pest of a son committing incest with his father's wife.
Bob's biggest fear for Chris was the asylum. Bob's personal fear was being forgotten. Chris' life is like a Greek tragedy. By taking actions against fate it's what led to their destiny. Except Oedipus didn't do it on purpose.

But do we remember him for reasons he'd want us too? Infamous or famous, I'd say he's most infamous for raising an abomination.

Bob strikes me as the type that cared about Chris and genuinely wanted what's best for his son but couldn't comprehend his son was also a retard that was totally disconnected from reality. Chris talked about "mainlining" and how his parents thought by treating him like a normal person he would magically become successful without special education, and Bob even paid the galpals to hang out with Chris to boost his confidence and get him socializing with girls. The two most heartbreaking things I saw when reading about Chris is how Chris callously sold off all of Bob's prized possessions he wanted to leave to his son like they were worthless junk and the plaque he put up in the shed imagining all the cool father/son activities he could get up to with Chris when he got older, but Chris just denied him and was too busy playing with my little pony figures and watching children's cartoons at 20+ years old to do anything in the shed. The shame and denial that Bob felt about Chris was evident, he didn't want the fat greasy weirdo his son ended up being.

Most people seem to remember him as a person that contributed to society and was at least somewhat cultured and intelligent, the only decent person in the chandler household.

Barb was the one that really screwed Chris up imo, she was fucked up.

I just realized the cognitive dissonance of insisting on keeping your autistic son in normal education, but at the same time paying people to hang out with him. Do you want him treated like a normal person or does he need special attention?

As I've said before I believe there was a point and time when the lumberjack just gave up on Chris. I think he gave up on all his kids at one point and time. I think we all recall the famous "I'm cutting it down", speech? Before that Bob is more mad about being woken up than the fact his son maybe harming himself live on youtube. He distinctly says "go wake your mother up don't bother me" like he can't be bothered by Chris' actions, despite it being something as serious as Chris literally killing himself. Bob was an educated man who should have had no business having kids and especially again at his age, Barb being a useless hoe she was, used Chris as the anchor for Bob ensuring he wouldn't leave her as she was deathly afraid of abandonment for decades.

I'd also like to add that it's obvious that he stopped giving a fuck about Barb too. Hell, i'm pretty sure he stopped giving a fuck about life in general, just who the hell would let his wife threaten his thirty-year-old son with suicide if he leaves the house?

But do we remember him for reasons he'd want us too? Infamous or famous, I'd say he's most infamous for raising an abomination.
Like I said, his wish was granted by a monkey's paw.

Call me mad at the internet, but Barbs literally the devil and she "got what she fucking derseves" -Joker. From baby trapping Bob, manipulating everyone, being a whore, man there's too much too list. All that's happened its mostly thanks to her.

He is exactly where he belongs. Yes, he may have been f-ed up (figuratively and literally) by Barb, but he has become worse than her. I have no pity for him, because he is an autonomous ball of clay in the worst way.

Any motive behind this?

The Captain contacting Megan? Because he was a Chris simp.

I have no doubt that if Megan said anything about being okay with meeting Chris, Cap would have helped Chris take a trip to see her. Cap's only response to Chris about Megan should have been "leave her alone". Cap himself should have left her alone. Cap could not help but pozload my neghole and got called out enough to where he finally bailed. Just in time too.

The Captain saw a lot of himself in Chris for whatever reason, he was a bit older but not as stupid, he was probably even more sympathetic to Chris compared to someone like Null.

Chris insists on talking about what he knows - Chris wants loyalists, not friends, per se. Let's face it: Chris would rather talk about rocks, ponies or sonichu as opposed to discussing any other topic.
Chris wouldn't even interact with people outside of maybe null, unless they were playing pretend with him and his dimensional merge.
I'm honestly surprised Chris stopped bothering Megan simply after being told she has guns. I would've figured he'd keep trying to find her regardless.
Chris might be retarded, but I don't think he's retarded enough to risk getting shot.
The best thing Bob could have done for Chris would have been to try and find him a wife while he was in high school and make an effort to set him up with a decent paying but menial job somewhere. Bob knew lots of people and they lived in rural Virginia so I don't buy that it couldn't have happened. Chris needed structure, independence, and something to care about. Bob completely dropped the ball.
That would have only worked if Chris was never exposed to to the Internet. By the time Chris hit college and was making his comic there was probably no hope for him having a "normal" life. He could barely separate reality from fantasy in the 2000s.
yes, this episode hit real different. this was an era when it was hard for me to follow chris, so a lot of this epsode was new information to me.

i blame my hangups on just not liking the sockness in general/him being creepy, and i was kind of sad to hear megan was dragged back into this.
These last couple videos were just about when I stopped paying attention to Chris. He was just another dime a ten-dozen crazy twitter tranny.
You mean an ensbler
The people who played pretend with Chris on twitter are almost as culpable as the mushroom slut for what happened. You don't feed into crazy peoples' delusions.

But do we remember him for reasons he'd want us too?
I don't think he'd cared what people think, since he was paranoid, that to the actions of his wife and son. If he did, Bob would want everyone to positively think of what he did for G&E as well as how he raised Chris during his first 6 years of life. Now more people are talking about how bad his parenting was.
The shame and denial that Bob felt about Chris was evident, he didn't want the fat greasy weirdo his son ended up being.
After years of getting Chris go get normal his and Barb's way, to no avail, I'm surprised Bob didn't start calling Chris a re-tard every morning he woke up to the time he went to bed. I think once the trolling reached it's zenith, Bob didn't want to have anything to do with Chris and had become a 'sickly shut-in' according to Chris. Which is sad because as an adult, you'd want to make the most with your parents, as it could be their last day on earth. Chris decided to play dress up.
Do you want him treated like a normal person or does he need special attention?
Unfortunately, Bob didn't think he needed special attention, so he decided to buy people for his son. Which is weird since paying the gal pals back then is akin to Chris buying plastic and electronics now.

And she's pretty much paying for it now. I don't know if she believes in karma, but I assume Barb must be seriously regretting her life choices now.

That's why a lot of us are here. We can see aspects of ourselves in Chris, and a lot of us (including me) can sympathize with his plight.

The problem is that there is no legal way to save Chris. He needs direct medical intervention that he can't avoid. His stint at WSH was to restore his competency to stand trial, not fix him. He can only really be helped if he's found to be incapacitated, which is unlikely. Even then, any treatment that could help him might still be illegal.

And, with his actions from last year, even if he gets that treatment, he'll never have a chance to rebuild his life. Personally I think he should have that possibility, but there's not really a way for him to navigate out of it in our society. He tried to latch on to the LGBT community, since they were willing to give him a chance, and he's blown that chance.

His final chance might have been becoming a born-again Christian or something, but now that's he's become a false prophet, they most likely won't accept him either. Once you become "the enemy", forgiveness is in short supply, even among those who claim inclusiveness.

Because zealots of any type are never truly inclusive. They only accept someone who actively promotes their ideology in a positive way, but most people aren't willing to include someone who is best known for having sex with their elderly mother.

For Chris to be un-fucked it would take a miracle.

Unfortunately Chris has that narc habit of forcing his delusions on people, even the most liberal of groups. As some people of that community are autists themselves, at the very least weren't raised like Chris was, and can act (sometimes) well within society.

Chris is still in the belief that there are supporters on his side, but those 'supporters' are enablers that end up making Chris worse.

Bob's 2008 letter to Chris leaves me feeling like he didn't give up soon enough. Even with Chris having... not turned out as expected, he's still trying to guide him into doing something constructive and meaningful with Chris' interests, to channel his retarded fanfic-diarrhea into an inspirational message on overcoming autism.

Even with only a few short years left before the end, Bob never truly stopped believing in the
