Hi
Basically I would like to do a documentary on Chris how his life was effected by the internet, weather this made his situation worse or he was always destined for the way things have turned out.
A few questions which people here may be able to assist

Would he willing give an interview? , would anybody who was effected by him ?

Would anybody watch it?

Anyway thanks for reading this

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Would I watch it? Yes. Will it happen? No. He is too paranoid, you would be called a troll and sent away.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Even if I was to offer a small fee for speaking on it?

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Trust me its not going to happen. Even if you show up at the door they will just slam it on you.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

I am willing to make it without his involvement I just wanted to be able for him to give his side of the story. Though it may be more anecdotal.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

You're serious aren't you? Documentaries are expensive.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

I'm deadly serious. I'd like this community to feature in it if that's possible.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Then by all means do it, I would love to see a documentary on his life. A good one that is.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

The structure of the documentary would be 3 parts Introduction and discovery to begin with

I would like to do an impartial report on the phenomena,

Introduction - who is he, before his discovery, what caused him to be found, maybe a few comments from people who knew or were around him before his fame. Could more have been done to stop it before it started .

I'd like to have somebody from The Game and Hobby place here basically saying their thoughts on what he was like .
And possibly even possibly the Tutor who confiscated his sign.

Then it would be "The Quest" - this would feature well the majority of the events of the internet's actions as well as his banning, the court case, his actions towards the internet, his videos.
This is where I'd like any body who has interacted via the internet to speak and maybe even some if those who met him because of the Internet.

The last part would be a conclusion where can he go from here. Could he recover his anonymity. And finally what the future holds

Thoughts??

What I don't want to do is judge him that's for the viewer

Yeah, definitely get some insight from Cole. If he's in this documentary, then I'll sure as hell see it.

Why on earth would you want to put those people on film? All the "civilians" involved in the rolling trainwreck of CWCology just want to get on with their lives, and maybe not have the first thousand Google hits on their name be about autistics in soiled briefs.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

OP The only way your going to get actual interest from any of the users on this forum and/or Chris is if you have either some serious backing/money or have a good trailer.

By serious backing/money I mean Michael Moore style budget. Where you can get interviews with Cole, Snyder, Mimms & Lucas, Megan etc. The main characters in Chris's life, not the supporting cast would get you attention. You wouldn't even need Chris at that point, people would think it was Kaufman-esque and classify it as an art film.

Otherwise people will think your just trolls trolling trolls

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

A documentary would be interesting. I don't think he will want to participate, nor any of the people involved.

This sort of documentaries have been proposed several times, but the best we have so far are several amateurish YouTube recaps and a few more involved videos (there was that one class project thing). And a whole buncha A-logging, of course. Fan projects rarely get off the ground.

And I don't really know if anyone would want to finance this sort of films either, even on Kickstarter or like.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

nah

we have cwc primers aplenty on this internet of ours

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

The thing is, you wouldn't be able to find any new information or content about Chris. You'd basically be cloning the Chris page on the cwcki, and your end result wouldn't improve on it at all. Hell, at this point in the Chris story, there's so much information and it changes so dramatically (normal Chris -> tomgirl, for example), a video version of the Chris page would have a lot less information.

I mean, really, if you can figure out some way to produce a product of value, do tell. Because I can't really see how you'd do it.

Logically it'd have to be done after a lot of time has past, to the point where Chris has become something of an urban legend.

I can't really foresee it occurring during his lifetime though, but a documentary about him after he kicks the bucket doesn't sound like a particularly far fetched idea.

Well, I mean, it'd still need to be like a five hour documentary, at least. I was talking to Alec about this and he said it'd need to be a miniseries and I agree.
