Well, I mean, it'd still need to be like a five hour documentary, at least. I was talking to Alec about this and he said it'd need to be a miniseries and I agree.

The Christory Channel
Haha, I'd watch that. Now who'd play me... 8-)

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

At what point would Chris have still been on-board with co-operating in such a project? Just before Bob died? Then again he didn't fall for fake Veronica Belmont's charms.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Thanks for the replies and honestly I agree it would need to be at least 4 or 5 hours long, The idea is to Basically look at the situation, is it the internet or his fault in what he has done?
Honestly I discovered him in a picture on 1d4 chan, about a year ago so way after everything happened.
And in all fairness he was one of four I was looking at doing I think they are called ( and the term is kind of odd) LoL cows ?? it would be an overreaching look at these people I wanted to include Chris as he has rather a large community about him and his antics. the others being the Atheist, a Norwegian guy who lives in England and a yet undecided forth

There is a real risk of just replicating the Wiki and that is something I really do want to avoid. However the wiki would be mentioned as honestly how many people have a wiki dedicated to them?

Of course I wouldn't be able to do the subject of Chris without 4 or 5 hours of information. It was going to be 2 hours however, going over everything it would need to be almost 3 times as long.

I do appreciate all the feedback I'm getting and would appreciate any more.

This is not about trolling him, far from it and unless I can contact those people mentioned it would not be very entertaining and wouldn't happen anyway, budget wise well at the moment the budget would be enough for possibly something along the lines of Super Size Me quality, but that's 4 documentaries at 2 hours long. KS would be used once I had a trailer and had several people who said yes they would talk about the subject.

Put it this way if Chris has wanted a chance to defend himself against everything, I hope he would use this opportunity.

Well, it's not that hard to put together a wiki about a subject. So if someone has past a certain amount of information about them, say, on ED, it wouldn't take that long for someone to get an account on one of those chintzy wiki hosts and make some shitty wiki about them.

The real differentiating factor about the cwcki is how extensive, complete and detailed it is.

Eh, he's tried to defend himself a lot in the past. That's the reason why he's mostly quiet now.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Do you think he is capable of rational discussion?, Not the ranting videos out there?

His current stance on trolls is pretty simple. It wouldn't be much more than a 40 second rant about how and why they're evil, also gay. Maybe a little bit of growling and sighing.

Wait, is Chris still hung up on the idea that all the trolls are gay? Also, wtf does being gay have to do with trolling? Chris-logic.

I don't know about all of them, but all of the times when we would claim we're gay or accuse him of gay, because of how hilariously he reacted, he interpreted that as meaning that we actually were gay and that we were trying to convert him.

Anyway, back on topic, I would watch that documentary. :)

I think that it'd be interesting if you also mentioned how Chris's Internet infamy has spread beyond the US. I, for example, am Latin American.

Oh it was international from the beginning.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

I think luring him with PS4 games would make him talk like a chicken.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

Emphasize how "epic" some of the sagas were. I mean, this random guy from a small town gets a business proposal from Shigeru Miyamoto? His arch nemesis flew to Australia to rape his gal-pal, who then died in the brushfires? You mean to tell me there's a secret cabal dedicated to his downfall? All of these could make interesting hooks for your documentary.

Sensationalism. That's the word. :geek:

Dude...

Don't make a five hour documentary about Chris. Are you serious? Just skip or briefly go through some of the stuff. Docs on celebrities with long careers don't even go that long.

Also, you would need to do some real legwork. Like get a hotel in C-Ville, do filming around Ruckersberg, get court transcripts/photos/video etc from his arrest. I.e. make it look like a real documentary with real investigative work put in so that it doesn't look like an amateur troll video.

Do you have any prior experience with filmmaking? You would need a full film crew too.

Eh, not really, just a good cameraman.

It depends on how professional you want it to look. If it's a documentary you'd also need a good camera (Which runs you several thousand dollars), a good editor, a good sound guy, a boom guy, a cinematographer etc.

And that's just the minimum and it'd require a pretty big budget altogether if you wanted it to look good.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow Documentary

He could do most of that himself, the biggest issue would be getting good equipment.

Not true anymore, actually. You really only need a skeleton crew of two or three people who know what they're doing. At least, that's true of a lot of places I've worked. (Not to be a pretentious "hur dur ba herrrrrr internets professional.")

Anyway, I don't think a documentary would ever do Chris justice, and here's why: Chris is a new media social experiment. He would not exist as he does today if it weren't for Youtube, Facebook, Skype, and every other new communication platform he has used to reach out to the world. As such, an old media documentary wouldn't suit him, I don't think. The wiki is a perfect representation of his life.
