Well of course he is. Sonichu is pretty much the only thing in his sad, sad life that he can call his own. It's the only thing he can even pretend to be proud of, it's his mark (or shitstain) on earth. As quiet as that echo is, it has at least echoed around the internet for over a decade with new people discovering his special flavour of autism every day.

The best creators know how to hide their sources and inspirations. The autistic ones... well...

Someone with a china did. Remember Vivian Gee? Yeah she had a china (at least as far as Chris knew) she mocked his comics and she got death threats followed by extortion when he thought she was making money. Chris' absurd defensiveness in respect to his comics knows no gender lines.

Just like Cerebus, Sonichu exhibited a complex evolution over the course of its publication history. That's why Chris had to stop his work on the comic. He was changing so fast as an artist that he just couldn't keep up. Hopefully Harold Bloom will get to the bottom of this in his new book Sonichu: The Power of the Unlimited Imagination
