I think it's due to his southern-isms. Like how he says "Have a good day" and "peace" after threatening to kill someone.

IIRC a troll who was really good with computers built a laptop for Chris (with an onboard trojan so he could keep an eye on what Chris was up to. It was a noble and clever plan but Chris actually displayed some thinking ability and wiped the laptop before use, then never seemed to use it (likely it's broken or has been swallowed up by the hoard).
