Chris wants people to "like him positively." How do you like things negatively?

Yeah, Chris, I'm totally sure people will positively like you after you blast them with pepper spray.

When he says "I would even spray myself" I was thinking more along the lines of :briefs: than pepper spray.

I was thinking of it as a Pokemon battle of Chris being confused.

This latest string of incidents suggests Chris believes real-life bans work the same way they do in his comics. That is, concepts like the law or store policies never enter into his thoughts.

Any given person banning him is (in Chris's eyes) acting alone, and overstepping their authority by making up new rules. If he can defeat the person committing this injustice, somehow the ban doesn't count. He genuinely doesn't get that the employees are just following Wal-Mart policy, let alone that every Wal-Mart has the same policies. Unlike in the comics, he never had superpowers, so he couldn't fight back. Well. Now he kind of does.

I'd say this forum provides plenty of examples.

I'm not sure Chris even gives thought to laws in the first place beyond doing the bare minimum to avoid daily arrests. He seems to feel that if he believes that a law is unjust or being unfairly applied to him, he can just ignore it and try to run when in danger.

My God.....he's part of the sovereign citizen movement!

Well, nothing gets people to positively like you like pepper spraying them when they look at you funny.

I know Chris isn't innately aware that all of us don't live in his head, so we can't differentiate busy and stressed chimp-out Chris from normal chimp-out Chris, but surely someone would have at least told him about that by now.

The past few weeks have just been amazing. He's posting as if he has absolutely no idea of the gravity of the situation facing him, and things are simply back to business as usual.

And considering everything that's gone on after GameStop, I'm starting to have some serious doubts about the possibility of any leniency come next month.

"If you make verbal attacks then I'll defend myself." "I'll even spray myself."

Now all I can see is Chris staring into a mirror holding the pepper spray, ready in case even he himself turns out to be a troll.

Ok Chris! Since it's our fault for making you scared into a defensive stance, I suppise that makes it your fault when you scare us into an offensive stance with your weapon right?

The thing is a Lawyer is required to put the best interest of their client first, it's part of the oath.
True, but leaving Chris to his own devices is clearly not in Chris' best interest. Part of a lawyer's job is to advise their client, and I have no doubt he would strenuously advise Chris (and mostly Barb on the side) that Chris is better off restrictively supervised before the hearing and trial.

Also I'm not saying it would work. There's no way Chris would listen, and neither would Barb, but a competent lawyer would still make the attempt. I kind of doubt Barb even bothered to speak to any counsel before scraping up a bail bond, though. She needs her pack mule for the big move, after all.

I might disagree here. The PD is qualified in the law, but he's not a psychologist. It's his job to get the best legal deal for his client, but the court won't expect him to judge his client's mental state beyond a basic level. Last time, all that meant was a cursory psych eval; I don't see the court re-examining his competency this time when they already satisfied themselves.

Right plus the PD would have like 5 minutes max with Chris before the appearance, no time to figure out if he should be out or not

The amount of idiocy contained in those few sentences is astounding. I'm just zeroed in on how he has COMPLETELY missed the point of what happened at the GameStop and has decided that pepper spray is a fix all for his problems. Never mind the whole "I'll even spray myself" bit. Although, the comment about the 3g on his phone is weirdly funny too. Like, why specify 3G? Just say "internet on my phone."

There's no reason Chris wouldn't have an appointment with his public defender before the trial where the lawyer could take all the time he wants to meet with Chris. If he requests a lawyer be appointed, I expect Chris and the PD will meet, the PD will try to hammer out a deal with the prosecutor, and he'll plead or take it to a trial (pointless, since there is video).

I think it's safe to say that the incidents at GS and WM are no longer isolated incidents, and that Chris is actively instigating these encounters. He's planning to go out armed with his pepper spray, and only needs to invent a reason to use it.

I like how he says Sega will hear about the Gamestop incident, like they really give a crap.

"Hey fellas! Some guy in Virginia is vandalizing displays and assaulting employees, all over Sonic! We gotta shut this down!"

If anything it will become a joke among employees... It's weird that he thinks of SEGA as an entity when A) it didn't make Sonic Boom (not that Chris would know this) and B) Video game companies tend to consist of smaller sub-sections that focus on specific genres. Either way Chris will never convince SEGA of anything except that crazy fanboys exist and that some are more crazy than others.
