One of the side-effects of all this 'Evil Misgendering' is that there's a lot of room for truscum and tucutes to go to war. I do get where troons are coming from, because they think their gender isn't something that is bestowed on them by other people. The problem is that just because they've made misgendering into a capital offense online doesn't mean they've actually changed anybody's minds, and incidents like this are a strong reminder that they're getting away with a great deal of bullshit purely due to people trying to live and let live. They refuse to accept that, yes, their gender is bestowed on them by other people, because they can only change their appearance, they can't actually change sex. So people calling them by their preferred pronouns is, in fact, not based on their personal constructed reality but the benefit of a society catering to them - and society can (and hopefully, will) turn on them at any moment. And that's not even getting into just how quick these types are to start referring to people they don't like as subhuman. But no, they should always be treated with basic human decency, while anyone who misgenders, to them, forfeits their humanity.

It's interesting how many of them seem to realise that their delusion only lasts as long as they have buy-in from the world at large, though, considering how many of them make 'trans' their whole identity rather than the gender they want to identify as. If they were truly certain they were the opposite gender, then misgendering would bother them as much as it would Bill Cosby - not at all, because who cares? You're wrong. But that it's such a persistent issue for them means there's a part of them squirreled away in their delusions that's well aware that it's all not true.

I admittedly don't mind if I were to use said person's preferred pronouns (and frankly seeing few people in this forum using lolcows' preferred pronouns (such as referring Chris as "her") for the sole purpose of pissing people off is something I loved seeing), but I still don't get the uproar behind it.
