I'm going to go ahead and agree with everyone who has said the medallions. They actually look like merchandise for a cartoon character, and the fact that he's able to mass-produce them and add custom variations shows that he really puts effort into their creation.

This is a no-brainer, for me...

I actually, honestly, truly like this piece. I've always been a fan of big, bold, garish colors and this one scratches that itch rather admirably. Also, I think it's one of Chris's better compositions - nice balance of colors, and I mostly approve of where he drew the horizon-line. I think Chris's recent, "My Mind Is Blank" swimming-pool piece wins out, for best composition, so I'll rank this one second.

But the color selection, the balance, and the juxtaposition of his raging selfishness contrasted with his supposedly humanitarian motivation, propel this work to the top of my list.

The modern art masterpiece that is his life
This.

I knew several "performance artists" way back in the pre-Internet daze. Had I told any of them that within their lifetimes, an obnoxious and disgusting "mentally challenged" boy-man from a small Virginia town, who created a couple dozen amateurish videos of himself ranting at imaginary enemies as well as various poorly-drawn, childish comics, would have a worldwide fandom that followed his every word and move, they would have thought I was insane.

(Or else, they would have eagerly asked he how he pulled it off, which would have been hard to explain to pre-Internet people.)

I like to say he is a john waters character stuck in a david lynch movie

Now don't get me wrong here, Chris' art isn't good by any means. However, the worst thing about it is not the line work, but the horrible marker coloring. If you'll notice all the "good" pieces of CWC art are either not done with markers or have much less noticeably variations in color saturation. (the "Help Hatti" one is I good example of this, the sky is the only big mono-collor block and it has a lot of clouds.)

I'd say two of his best drawings are both recent. My Mind is a Blank and the album cover for that noise band. Especially My Mind is a Blank, since he did it on his own and it actually communicates an emotion. It's really nice seeing Chris drawing again.

Knowing his art an his one an done attitude towards it I have always wondered how he avoided that in his early work, the felt over run seems to have gotten worse since he left school (much like his speech impediment) I am guessing it's a case of not having a authority figure who would chastise him or advise him (as unlikely as it is he would take that advice).

You know that's one bit of his work I genuinely like, it's not great in terms of skill but it's a good attempt at showing emotion (it's not a original idea but for Chris it's almost genius level understanding of symbolism) I have wanted one of the many more talented artists of the Christorical community to take a shot at redoing it.

There's quite a lot of Chris' artwork I like so picking one thing isn't easy. The CD cover is cool and he got paid so that's more honest work he's doing. People are quick to slate the artwork and, yea it's amateurish and badly composed and he has no idea that perspective exists BUT, for all that, he has to actually pick up a pen and paper and draw a picture to create it. I mention this merely because we live in a world where people like Tracy Emin can put an unmade, jizz stained bed in a gallery and call it art and the so called art community shit collective bricks and bury her in money.

The medals, the comics, the terrible papier mache Sonic, they show the true Chris in all his neurotic glory and offer a window into his mind. By that definition Chris is a great artist, he sets out to illustrate his thoughts and almost invariably succeeds so by that definition Chris isn't really half bad, I mean he's better than Tracy Emin (and to be fair I'd rather touch a medallion than touch that fucking nasty ass bed).

Didn't he draw a band's album cover? Honestly, wasn't the worst thing being quite honest. Was creative enough. I'll have to search through the forums and find it, but when I do, I'll post it.

EDIT: Found it. Sure as hell better than what I can do. Eh, credit where it's due and all that.

It might be a cliche at this point, but I've always been partial to this one:

You can tell he really put (his version of) effort into it, only to have his markers, his hands, and his brain betray him at every turn.
I like the one of the British guy with a big green apple for a face. That was one of Chris's, right?
Dude. Way to tell everyone that I'm secretly spying on the forums for Chris.

I'd say the steel-plated heart one is the most impressive recent piece by CWC. It has some serious art value to it, and it's more creative than just mashing vidya characters together. Plus the heart looks more like a real one, instead of just going for the "<3" shape.

The giant straw goes without saying, but there's more to this image when you stop to really take a look at it. Chris' square eyes, each a different size and color. His enormous left hand and tiny right hand (albeit inside a huge sleeve). His mouth, which seems to have no lips and is just a big circle. The shadow of the cup, which is quite small compared to the enormous object that's casting it. The shaky, imperfect line that I assume is meant to separate wall from floor, but just implies the Target has a bizarre architecture. The framed picture of a scribble on the wall. Everything about this picture is just so twisted, and the longer you look at it, the less sense it makes.

This....

Because it makes me laugh everytime. The Cwcki article on dirty crapped briefs has given it a whole new hilarious meaning. And I honestly think its one of the better drawn (if innacurate) self portraits of Chris.
