it doesn't seem like he is a massive drain on society in the same way CWC is.
No, you are quite right -- since compared to Chris Cole is a doing great.
However, he's basically a self-appointed movie critic who only posts reviews online with very low views. He doesn't understand the ropes of journalism or the film industry and, apparently he has been living off his wife's work for several years.
But yeah, he indeed got married and has a solid relationship. At some point his columns were syndicated on several newspapers (or so he says) and he's able to write in better-than-average English. All these qualities are indeed quite above the expected for a son of Barb.

Well done. Funny how it's never occured to him once to check if this stuff appeared on here.
To be fair, the thread disappeared before many members of our fair community could see it. :(

I'm curious to find out if Lucy and Pollo get along and what kind of interactions they normally have. Has Pollo been vaccinated and neutered? Maybe the easiest way to find out would be to ask Chris how the black-and-white boy acts at the vet.

Yeah, this is all I meant. It seems like this Cole character is able to function as a person without a dedicated care taker or public assistance.

Although, now that I think about it, it's somewhat uncanny how they both operate in eerily similar arenas. For example: they both leverage the creative work of others to gain notoriety. Cole reviews movies, whereas Chris creates comics based on existing characters. Additionally, they both use video as their primary means of communication. Cole again with his reviews and promotional reels, and Chris to document his own personal embarrassments and frustrations. Finally, they both seem to have an interest in music. We know Cole plays in a jazz band, and Chris likes to sing. It reminds me a bit of that scene in Alien: Resurrection where they find the lab with all of the hybrid Ripley/Alien clones and each apparent generation is more mutated, more monstrous and convincingly shittier than the last.

As has been pointed out many, many times before, Cole has become house-husband to a stable, successful woman, which leaves him free to pursue his creative interests. He may not be a great critic, but he's living Chris's dream.

nice job OP. Aside from the unprovoked outburst about snorlax in pt.1, my fave part was when you exuberantly reacted to the mention of "the" Cole Smithey (as another poster pointed out), and how "he's quite well known over here, he's like a celebrity"--- I almost died dude.

Also I found it interesting how Chris says he disagrees about Cole's Toy Story 3 review but seconds later admits he's never seen it :\ (edit: sniped on page 1, fuck)

Very good analysis! Worthy of Cole's page at the C.W.C.k.i.

This is fucking golden!

I love when he said he disagreed with Cole's Toy Story III review, then immediately admitted to having not even seen Toy Story 3.
Probably for the best.

Nice to hear the Game Place turned into a chocolate shop Chris just can't even bring himself to go inside. Good willpower I suppose.

His mind is still slow though.

I totally agree with @Mashed Potato Grenade, this would be a great addition to the cwcki article. Great insight.

I appreciate the kind words from both you, and Mr Potato Grenade. I'm not really set up to make changes on there, but if you think the insight has value, please feel free to contribute it to the public record. I'm happy my words could be used in service to such a fine community.

I don't think this is coincidence as much as it is Chris emulating his big brother. Just as Chris copies the hobbies of his potential sweethearts in order to get in their pants, he's copying Cole as a way to get him to love him. Add to this the jealousy that Chris inevitably feels towards anyone who's successful. Chris hoped "Christian and the Hedgehog Boys," like "The Rockin' Dogs," would make him popular and desirable. Chris has known very, very few human beings in his life, so it would only make sense that Cole, one of these few, would have an outsized influence on his psyche.
