I noticed that there is no place to discuss your christmas woes, so here you go, you can finally congregate with the other Krampus', and Gryla's of the world.
This is you, ya' filthy animal.

Merry Christmas.

Think you've got it bad? Just imagine how bad it was for Jesus. Poor guy was burned at the stake on that day. Never forget the reason for the seasoning.

What are your Christmas woes @ArgonianVoter ? You just dislike it as a concept, the consumerism is grim, or personal reasons for feeling sad?
I must say I have always found Christmas a bit of a challenge due to early years stuff I have no intention of sharing
. It’s much better since having children because they really enjoy it and it makes the whole rigmarole more enjoyable.
It’s still a lot of work and expense, and buying, wrapping, cooking, cleaning, and Sorting All The Stuff is tiring. I always seem to be in a rush before and then get sick just after and then I’m back to work. The shops are a stressful mess of sparkle and overstimulation and i dont know how shop staff manage to listen to the same tape on loop all day without going nuts.

Personally I hate all the hype around Christmas and that strange empty feeling I get once it's all over (I'm currently assuming that it's the holiday hype causing this anyways). Ever since I was kid I've always felt this way after Christmas and then it really sinks in after New Years. What ever this hollowness is has only been exacerbated by events in the past 10 years. Since then I've tried my best avoid the holiday hype.

OP got coal last year, huh? Probably this year too.

Santa's trying to be flexible with you, man, but you have got to stop selling the elves stimulants!

Yes, it does make them work faster, and yes, Santa loves the increased productivity, but the post-holiday season rehab bills for the elves are getting out of control!

C'mon, man, get it together.

/sneed, obviously you goofs

I don't think it sucks, I just enjoy it in a different way than how I did as a kid. I hear Christmas commercials and my parents are pestering me about what I want before Halloween, and I'm sick of that aspect of it before Thanksgiving. That said, I actually enjoy going to visit family on Christmas Eve and day. There's always a ton of great food, booze, and cookies, followed by board or card game, usually while somewhat drunk. Sometimes we do another Thanksgiving dinner, or a prime rib, or something traditional like carp, pierogi, an borscht. I could skip the gifts and even most of the music (the old German or religious ones are good, but skip anything about Santa or Rudolf).
