They act like Eric is a lolcow Klondike, but people just scratch their heads in confusion.
Eric let Vito debate him on stream and then muted him whenever he tried to shill his comic when he sniffed out the grift.

I think a big issue with modern comics (which I only pirate once every few years out of abject boredom and never buy) is that everyone's trying to be meta and post-ironic about everything in the least tactful or well-constructed ways to the point where most stories are just there for terrible sitcom style jokes that don't work without a laugh track and hamfisted sociopolitical messaging less and less people care about with each passing day.
