Jan's digestive issues didn't seem to start until they took out her Gallbladder. That's super common. Before that, she was taking MiraLax on a DAILY basis - there's video that shows Paul making it. There are quite a few meds to help GI upset after gallbladder removal, as well as going low fat, but she never mentions that?

As for the cough, it seems more like a tic to me, as it's always a dry, super forced cough. She said the Dr heard "inflammation and irritation" .How the heck can one hear that?? I've never heard her wheeze. But, come to think of it, I've never heard AJ wheeze either....

Only...she had a panic attack, or whatever, while trying to do PFT's, and it's hard to Dx Asthma without those. Heck, even GERD can cause Wheezing, if she actually wheezes. I did see where she said they had ruled out GERD with testing. Really? What test?

Not defending Jan, but I think her cough is real. I think maybe she's headed toward COPD. Has her family or her ever smoked? Could have caused damage. Which is bad. Not to :powerlevel: but I have chronic plant allergies (ragweed, oak trees, and some other shit) and have no issues smoking marijuana. Plant allergies can vary from plant to plant. Some people are allergic to flowers, some are allergic to trees, some weeds. It's much like how being allergic to a dog doesn't mean you're also allergic to a cat just because they're both mammals.

As far as we know, the tubes are permanent, she hasn't conveyed any plans of getting rid of them, or any hopeful talk of the day of when she no longer needs them.

I'm on IV antibiotics every day and it took me ages to make the jump from PICC to PORT because of the number of complications that can arise from having a port. I don't think she understands the risks involved, she might know them, but I doubt that she actually understands them. Her doctors are massively irresponsible for suggesting that she has a port put in for a treatment that she doesn't even know will work for her.

That G tube looks disgusting. That's more than a little bit of granulation tissue. Also, she's just applying cream on top of old cream, she needs to completely remove the old cream and dry it before applying fresh. Surely that's basic?

I had a j-tube for about 3 yrs. They can look quite disgusting pretty quickly if any intestinal juices do leak from or around them. (Think something very similar to the yellow stomach bile you throw up when your stomach is empty). Sorry for the grossness! Also if she has been putting any meds through that have dyes in them it will discolour the tube in no time. I'm sure some of it could very well be due to her "venting" though.

Exactly! And even a little bit of granulation tissue can hurt a lot if it's exposed like that. I'm surprised she's just using cream and not demanding it be cauterized.

Did anyone else notice that smug look she just couldn't seem to control when she was trying to fake cry about not wanting to be at the hospital on her birthday? Of course she wanted to be there! The only thing that would be better in her opinion is if she had to have some kind of emergency surgery or something on her birthday!

EDIT: I forgot to add I'm wondering if there will soon be a trend among munchies to have buried bumper syndrome. I've been keeping an eye on what I'm 99% sure is another munchie on fb and she recently had buried bumper syndrome. As long as the inside bumper is up against the inside with enough force I'm pretty sure it's easy to cause. If the outside disk is tight enough on the outside to keep the inside bumper pulled into the intestinal wall then it's bound to happen over time. I'm wondering if Jaquie had this in mind when she chose a bumper vs. a balloon? Or was it the fact that there's more involved in changing out a tube with a bumper, thus more "medical intervention"?​
