Surgeons are dicks, I have seen worse behavior from them IRL plenty of times. They are generally abrasive and eager to do something mechanical immediately because they don't do much else and are impatient.

I believe her mom was possibly asked to leave so the surgeon could do this. No way would a surgeon do something like rip a tube out. I think they saw the scans and realized the tube was almost out and sedation would be an unnecessary risk. Sure maybe they could have numbed the area but I think the tube came out really quick. Jaq is definitely exxagerating, this is like when you get a drain tube pulled out no sedation.

This is honestly the most believable scenario.

No surgeon is gonna walk into a room and just rip something out. Hell, they won’t even remove the gauze or bandage without telling you what they’re doing.

She was probably hoping for another hit of pain meds but the doctor was like “oh you’ll only feel a slight tug of pressure. Sedation isn’t necessary” and really, it isn’t. Why take the 30 min or more to get her all sedated up for a 3 second slightly uncomfortable pull??

:powerlevel: When my SO had a gallbladder removal, some long term drainage tubes were required (as well as a bulb to collect the fluid) due to stent failure. Once a properly sized stent was implanted, the surgeon pulled the tubes out, no anesthetic. SO said it felt weird, like having large worms wiggling in your abdomen but was painless. :powerlevel:

This is part of what's pissing her off so much. She didn't get speshul attenshuns; the nurses couldn't even be arsed to help her change her bandages, so obviously it wasn't that bad - OR, she was told to wait for them to do it properly, but she wanted to fuck with the wound some more, and they told her off over it; the surgeon didn't have time for her bullshit was was like, if you can eat normally, you don't need this tube, which is only a vector for infection at this point; and the surgeon could see she's a giant whiny baby from a mile off and decided to treat her like you would treat a child, with no heads up before you do something slightly uncomfortable because it'll only make them hysterical for what should be a few seconds of discomfort, not pain.

Basically: the medical staff seems to have called her on her shit, and she's pissed off. She's likely being told the tube isn't necessary, and she needs to stop infecting herself like a useless child who can't understand directions like "wash your hands, keep your wound clean, and stop fucking touching it". No one but charlatans has time for munchie bullshit, especially not regular hospital staff. She's already a "frequent flyer" there, so they have her number at this point. Don't be surprised if she now decides she needs an entirely new medical team at a different hospital, possibly even necessitating a move "for her health" if she continues to get stonewalled for more speshul attenshuns from her local hospital.

She got her pain meds on board and gave everyone around her in her actual life a big fuck you and ripped that shit out rather than go along with the storyline she found herself in where because of the two tubes, the AFOs, the custom wheelchair, the service dog and a college that catered to her “disabilities”, she was going to have to start living an actual life.

This, this, fucking this. All of those things are tools that any other disabled person would use to help them live as normal a life as possible. Not Jaq, though, she wants all the toys AND all the lack of responsibility (*cough* Patreon money *cough*).

Does anyone else not believe her story. Her mom wasn't in the room but was at the hospital the whole time? What was she doing? I don't think the doctor just walked in saw it and ripped it out. I think he came in saw it was disgusting and infected and maybe said the mom should step out while he tries to remove the g-tube and while he was working on getting it out it probably easily ripped because the skin was so infected and being pulled by gravity. He tried to put in a new one to save the hole but it didn't work. And I think Jaq is just upset because she was expecting sedation and surgery and to be doted on but instead it fell off from her poor care and now she's freaking out because she doesn't get her precious ketamine and she doesn't have a way to vom through her g-tube. I'm glad this doctor came in, fixed the issue, left and didn't indulge her hospital fantasy life. I think he probs would have numbed the area with lidocaine but she probably continued her lie about lidocaine not working in hopes of getting ketamine but the doctor was like fine we don't need to waste lidocaine on someone that won't benefit and I'm not calling a sedation team over a 1 minute fix. Doctors need to tell her that the hospital and surgeons are busy with real sick people and don't want her showing up and wasting their time and resources. To be honest I can't believe they are even considering putting in another one... if she can't care properly for the first one then why should they repeat it when it has no real purpose now that she has a j-tube.

Not at all. My dad had a feeding tube and when he had it removed, it was a couple of seconds of pulling and then it was out. He said he couldn't even really feel it. The doctor held some gauze over it because it was oozing (gross, I know) and then taped it up and said the hole would close up in a couple of days. The commenters who are all "OMG HE LEFT YOU WITH AN OPEN WOUND?!" are so dumb.

Maybe this will be a good thing for her in the long run...or she'll end up with an NG tube and be pissed about that.

I'm hoping so so so much that no doctor wants to put another G tube in her. I know she "needs" to vent but like that's not the point of a feeding tube, the main point is for nutrition which she's getting through her J tube. I can see why they didn't bother closing the G up when she got the J but now that its out I really really don't see why they should be putting another one back in.

She's just mourning the ability to purge.

I highly doubt she’ll get another g stoma. There’s no point. All she needs is an NG if she really must vent.

Pretty sure this surgeon has her number now and told her he won’t be poking at her anymore. Her tube was fine for half a year and suddenly it’s not? Like I get complications sometime just happen but this reads more to me as she saw Mary Frey need a different size tube (Mary was just uncomfortable not screeching in pain like Jaq either) Wonder if the doctor could tell the tube had been messed with.

Jaq probably saw Mary need her feeding tube changed a bit and decided to manufacture an emergency by using that ridiculous cow vaccination needle thing to muck with her unnecessary tube and she’s now mad that it wasn’t a fun hospital stay with all the drugs like she thought she needed. And she lost a toy on top of that.

I’m really leaning to her thinking it would be find and she could just say she was in pain and didn’t expect the whole thing to legit blow up in her face.

I am guessing when the doctor denies getting her toy back she may run to an other doctor and cry. Or she's told to use an NG, she'll cry about how "it's so unfair and she can NG tube herself".

It really seems the doctor has caught onto her game. Why is she on opioids with gastropersis? You stomach is slow herr, let's slow down the ENTIRE gut.

And I would really love to know how they are letting her disconnect/reconnect herself with a PCA pump. Those go off usually if they detect the slighest kink.

I would find it a bit odd that a patient who frequents the hospitals and has all these chronic illnesses won't let the staff help with her tools. She also said she guarded her stomach before the doctor told her to move her hands, I'm sure he had to put gloves on first and she was guarding because she knew he was going to mess with the tube.

Unless(until Jaqs surgeon gets on the vlog and says he took her tube out himself, I don’t believe it. Also, how was he supposedly trying to insert a new tube that’s not showing up at the hospital until tomorrow? Jaq had the tube removal tool with her in the hospital because she brought it from home. Yeah, that’s totally normal. Note that Jaq says nothing about the surgeon stretching the g tube inner bumper in order to remove it. Is she suggesting that this guy ripped her g tube out of that stoma (while it was embedded in her abdomen wall, of course) with the bumper deployed and it somehow didn’t enlarge her stoma AT ALL?

Jaq forgot one of her lies when talking about the second dye study. She claimed earlier that sh vomited EVERYWHERE after trying to eat broth and crackers, yet somehow a few hours later she has contrast dye in her stomach from four days ago? Does her super unique anatomy allow her to empty the entire contents of her stomach but still magically retain dye from days before? Either she outright lied about the vomiting, the dye study results, or all of the above.

Occam’s Razor: Jaq created a reason to be admitted to the hospital and either had already started slowly messing with her g tube or started a slow incremental removal after being admitted. Having a tube change scheduled for later that week wasn’t going to get her the level of pain meds she wanted right away and being admitted into the hospital meant she wasn’t going to get her tordal and special k as scheduled. After the dye study and CT scan it became apparent to the surgeon and nursing staff that Jaq had been interfering with the tube and he told her flat out that they were removing the tube and that he would not continue to treat her hence her saying that her GI doc would do the next g tube. She’s upset not because a surgeon did something without her permission, but because she got caught here:

Does anyone believe for a second that if it went down the way Jaq represented it, that Jaq, her Mom, Judd (ha!), whoever wouldn’t have immediately contacted the hospitals patient advocate, her primary care physician, her Gi dr, anyone who could hold the surgeon accountable for his behavior? Can anyone think of a reasonable explanation why the surgeon that she hand picked to do a completely unnesscary roux en y who apparently didn’t even question why she had a tube in the first place would for no explainable reason forcably remove her tube without any preparation. Jaq makes it sound like it was just out of the blue with no lead up. Remember she is supposedly immunocomprised AND confirmed to be carrying MRSA. Is there any scenario where the surgeon and the nurse aren’t gowned and gloved?

Not trying to play devil's advocate here at all. The only reason I can think of is that he(?) went into her room to have a look at her tube, saw that it was out too far to save (going by what she said about the dye still being there days later leads me to believe that she was talking about dye that wasn't in her stomach, but in her abdominal tissue. I've had it happen and it tends to stick around a little while before your body completely absorbs it.) and decided to pull on it to see if it would come out before deciding what the next step would be.

She was probably not given any warning because everything she has dealt with so far has to know she will cause a huge fuss if there is any possible pain coming her way! Also, if she still has a bunch of granulation tissue in the stoma it probably felt a lot rougher than it actually was. That stuff can cause quite a bit of pain! Although, not nearly enough to require enough drugs to knock out a horse!

Do I believe what Jaquie described happened word for word? Not by a long shot!

I’ve thought this 100 times. It’s one of the things that first drew suspicions when I saw her YouTube channel before there was a cow thread.

She has all these tools to help, but she gets sicker and sicker. In my mind, how is no one like “this tool isn’t helping.... maybe you don’t have disorder A. Maybe it’s soemthing else?”

How does this girl have 15 disorders and no one has said “maybe it’s not 15 but this one or two that have these symptoms too”

Because what are her symptoms? She gets tired when she stands up to much. She gets tired when she does anything longer than 5 min. She vomits. Her heart rate goes up. And she gets horrible gas build up. And she’s got sensitive skin. Oh and plant allergies.

Somehow that’s 15 disorders and not one or two. How?

I actually feel bad for Jan. This isn’t a slippery slope like it was for Jaq — it’s like she just fell off a 100-foot cliff. (Or like someone pushed her) I thought better of Paul initially. I never thought he would let it get this far.

I give it 60 days until Jan ends up with a line infection. She is no where near as clean as Jaq.
