Dude there are periodic shortages of IVIG due to how extensive the prep process for it is, and it is used for actually desperately ill people with things like Guillain-Barre or severe autoimmune attacks. The fact that someone can waltz in and just special order a quart for fun and internet asspats, if she has the cash on hand to pay for it, shows just how fucked and amoral our medical system has gotten.

The thing about malingerers is that they probably don't realize that every treatment has potentially serious side effects. Every medical intervention is a question of "is this disease state worse than the possible side effects of the treatment?" Even misusing over the counter drugs can result in premature death. It's all attention and asspats until your fake diseases result in a genuine medical emergency because of unnecessary treatments.

I'm sure you're right about some of them, but I do think others love the more serious side effects because it lends to the illusion of real illness.

At that point, it's not an illusion of real illness, it's a genuine, real illness, and that's not fun, because there are real quality of life consequences. I don't have the numbers off the top of my head, but way more people die from complications they acquire during hospital stays than the original reason they were hospitalized in the first pace. Every unnecessary hospitalization is a gamble.

Initially I didn’t follow this thread, just read the OP when the thread and went on with my business since munchies bum me out. Of course, with the news of Jaquie’s death, I skimmed the thread and caught up to current events and... man, munchies STILL bum me out.

I can’t help but think how tragic this all is? I mean, I know she manipulated and lied and whatnot to ensure everyone’s attention was on her but Jesus, she was just 23. Dying at such a young age just sucks. I wonder if her family and friends will consider that their enabling of this munchie shit contributed to her to dying of sepsis at such a young age. Probably not. This is pretty much accidental assisted suicide in a way.

Shit’s just rough. RIP you poor mentally ill sod.

Of course, but seeking hospitalization, engaging in self-harm, and insisting on unnecessary (and therefore risky or dangerous) procedures, surgeries, and drugs are inherent to Munchausen symptomatology. I don't think anyone with this condition is really having "fun" under the best of circumstances. It's compulsive, manipulative, and pathetic, incredibly difficult to treat, and seems to spiral out of control more often than not.

As for someone like Jaquie with monetary means and familial support, an early death was a foregone conclusion. The saving grace for someone like Aubrey Ahna is that it seems like an insurance fraud investigation has put the kibosh on her Munchie experience for a while.

Well, she just got the ultimate munchie trophy. A casket.

Maybe, maybe not. A typical Munchie's goal is to receive attention and sympathy foremost, and then likely monetary gain (think DeeDee Blancharde and Disney trips). If they die, they won't be there/concious to experience the sympathy and attention. If you're dead, you can't get Make a Wish, a new house, Instagram likes, or anything.

Now, a Munchie by proxy parent or guardian has a higher probability of desiring the end goal of a casket. They'll get the god tier sympathy of a parent losing a child, being widowed, etc. Bonus if they have multiple outlets for the MBP, because they can start over. In this case, think The Sixth Sense.

EDIT: Grammar. Exam week and brain is fried.

I was only vaguely aware of this one until the death notice went up. I'm generally okay with nasty details, but the descriptions of all those tubes and necrotized intestines has me squirming, to be honest. At what point does the pain level begin to outweigh the satisfaction of being coddled and treated as special? I'd have thought punching holes in your abdomen was too far, but Munchies clearly consider that old hat now ...

Still, I can't help but wonder if she ever realized she was actually going to die, or if she fell into a coma before that happened. I do know that if she'd lived with only half a set of intestines, she would've been genuinely messed up for life ... Munchie jackpot. Do you think she was aiming for that, or was it just an accident?

It sounds like money isn't an issue since people have claimed that her family is extremely well-off.

I wonder if they'll sue for malpractice/wrongful death, though.

They should sue the munchie-enabling fucks who actually installed a completely unnecessary feeding tube and unnecessary Roux-en-Y surgery.

But they'll probably sue the hospital instead, the fuckers.

These enabling quacks just make this shit possible and their "care" falls short of what is objectively reasonable medical practice. The fact they have to shop around to find these bottom of the barrel butchers speaks for itself.

On a side note, it seems like any cows from KF who die pass away under sudden, unusual, and extreme circumstances. Jaquie's intestines herniating, Terry Davis getting hit by a train, two cows setting themselves on fire and burning themselves to death. The only one I can think of who had a "normal" death is Jahi McMath and she was for all intents and purposes dead for several years before finally being set free.

Only one died by immolation, Chloe Sagal, as far as I know. I don't know about Terry Davis, is that really how he died?

As for other cows deaths:

-Kadee Konstantino died of a Heroin overdose (another munchie)

-Julie Terryberry hung herself

-Chance Carmicheal was an obese man with a fat fetish. I believe his heart gave out and he had necrosis from medical complications due to his fetish.

Yep, Terry Davis was hit by a train.

And there was that Femmes4memes troon who killed themselves, too.

Anyways, I'd lurked Jaq's thread off/on and, wow, holy shit. Part of me feels some degree of pity for her, albeit because she clearly had a mental illness that people didn't help but instead enabled. The other part of me doesn't feel sorry for her, since she ultimately got what she wanted, but didn't comprehend the ultimate cost it would take.

Two questions
@Kate Farms Shill Can you "drain" your J tubs, like other may be draining their G... I have heard that some use actual suction to drain their stomach. that would certainly mess up you J if she did.

@Null Does she get her flashy banner?

New vlog up, allegedly posted by Jan as the last video Jaq made. In a sad irony the first words Jaq says are "I'm still here."

More ironic the new post is detailed instructions all about how to give Jaci more support and attention when she’s in the hospital. Jaci certainly got way more attention than most munchies. Hope it was worth dying at 23 of a necrotic small intestine.

G-tubes can be drained/vented. The real function is to release excess air and stomach acid in cases where the stomach really can't do that on its own. But. You know. Another over the top youtuber made a whole how-to video where she actually showed herself drinking a smoothie then suctioning and flexing her abs to make it come back out of her G-tube. What a fucking sideshow. I've never heard of someone intentionally draining their j-tube for purging or munchie antics, but I think (don't quote me, not a doctor or a nurse, just a medical historian with a biology/a&p background) draining j-tubes are occasionally used for things like obstructions.

I don't think she did anything immediate to cause this complication and I am not sure she ever realized she was really dying and was not going to get better this time. This is not a "normal" complication. It happens, obviously, but it's not something that she would have been like "oh yeah if I do some crunches I'll shoot my bowels through this hernia and then the intestine will start to die and then they HAVE to pay attention!" It's not something obvious like the people who put shit in their central lines to induce sepsis. I think she was legitimately blindsided by this, maybe started to genuinely panic, but she either lost consciousness from the pain or was sedated before she ever had to realize this was the end, no more Harlow kisses, no more Disney trips, no more anything, game over. She was gone before they found out what was wrong and they just never brought her back.

I see several mentions of a Roux-en-Y in here, but I'm still not sure why she was able to get one since she wasn't fat. Is there any use for this surgery other than for weight loss?

THIS.

Yanking around your tube so that it's inflamed and you've gotta get the pills, it leads to only bad things.

I've read so much about her that I stayed out of this thread, but I think she's been pulling and teasing that tube for a while to inflame it so she could go back in to the hospital/score more meds. this is what happens when you fuck with feeding tubes and ostomies too much.

Whether it's suction or just fiddling around with it. This isn't a common thing to have happen, which screams "fiddling with it" to me.

you have to believe what the patient presents with. if she was damaging and medicating herself to appear to need the thing, someone will give her the thing. all she had to do was fake the right signs and symptoms. she was really skilled at that, it was her only real interest in life. doctors that don't know her outside history, just her medical chart and test results, will do what seems right to them.

I wish more doctors lurked through social media before doing these though. a lot of munchies would simply get turned over to psych.
