Privating the video was a total cuck move and I have no idea what he was thinking. Like the one comment says, if he really believed in what he said then why back down? He's a cautionary tale about what happens when everything you do has this stink of inauthenticity around it thanks to previous issues with shilling.

Bro, I fucking hate the Act Man and act man type youtubers. Those fucking pseudo intellectual "analysis" youtubers who have a huge audience and despite apparently loving video games, do nothing with their audience to help the communities they claim to care about.
He'll make videos about how "arena shooters are dead" and talk about them like they're never coming back and there's nobody who ever plays them anymore, but then what does he do to help if he cares so much? Oh you really miss and love old arena shooters dude? Host a fucking 4$ VPS and run a server. You have over 1 million subscribers and your videos get like 300,000 views within 12 hours of existence, and you're telling me you can't get 8 people of all those viewers to join a server for an old school shooter that you setup? I bet you probably also have a discord where you could make a channel for it and get people to find matches with each other. He's literally in the perfect position to get people to play these old games he claims are "dead" and he claims to care so much about, but he won't actually do anything. This isn't just for arena shooters, it's for all older games across all genres and applies to all youtubers who make videos about "dead game X".

It really pisses me off because until about 6 months ago, for 2 years I was grinding almost daily trying to get people to play Unreal and Quake. Streaming it, posting on other gaming forums about it, shilling my buddies servers, always participating in the nights they setup games in those servers. Fuck, I even made a post on the farms asking if anyone wanted to play Q3 and I linked a mega file that had been setup with all the Q3 stuff ready to go out of the box and all you had to do was run it, and the response was basically "nobody is stupid enough to download files from randies on the internet then run it, nobody will play with you". Which is understandable, good to be weary of random files, but the point is, I was grinding and struggling to find people to play these game with and couldn't get anyone.
Meanwhile, faggots like the act man have millions of people who see his message, and the message he spreads is "these games are dead, they're not coming back", when in reality ANYONE can setup a server if they have people to play with and unlike modern games, these ones aren't actually going anywhere. He makes these fucking pseudo intellectual breakdowns of shit and talks about it like he cares so much, and at the end of the day, he doesn't care at all, just like every other fake fag youtuber who makes the same kinds of videos, not realizing the harm they actually do to these communities by spreading the narrative that there's no reason to even try with them. "If they're dead any big smart youtubers like the act man can't save them, I guess they really are dead. How sad, anyway I'd better remember to subscribe and donate to his patreon to see more cool videos like these"

Oh yeah, a funny observation about the Act Man. He clearly reads from a script, which is normal, 99% of video creators do, it makes perfect sense. However, he regularly shows footage of his face looking into the camera, but for these sections, he's clearly still reading the script. I thought the point of cutting away from gameplay to your ugly mug was to create an effect of talking directly to your audience, but clearly we just needed to see him reading off his monitor. The video wouldn't be complete without more footage of him sitting in a chair reading his script. What's really funny about this though isn't that whole thing, it's that he even reads his sign off from the script. The one thing you think you wouldn't need a script for at all. "Thank you guys for watching my videos. I really enjoy sharing my thoughts with people and seeing people's feedback on it. My patreon is in the description of you want to donate to keep my channel going, I'm out, thank you". He can't even be genuine for 1 fucking sentence to look into his camera and thank his audience for watching his slop. He actually reads it off the fucking script (at least in the few videos of him I've unfortunately seen) LMAO.

The shitty part is that Youtube dorks can sperg out like this but the channel will never really die off and they never truly pay the consequence of their actions. Until they are formally cancelled for pedophilia, grooming, rape, or get sent to prison they will keep going and going. All these cocksuckers need is a tiny but dedicated group of sycophantic autists to fund their lifestyle and they're set.

Cancer Youtube channels never seem to die.

Searching the Internet Archive for these videos shows a lot of them were still up in 2023. There is a suspiciously high number of games published by Bethesda in this list of privated videos. This stands out when comparing the first privated critical review (archive) of Prey vs the still public positive follow up video. Also his Starfield Is A Phenomenal Achievement video looks like a blatant shill job. This lends some weight to the theory that he is cashing brand ambassador checks from game publishers.

He seems to be really bad at handling online banter. Supposedly he got a twitter ban 2 years ago for threatening to stab someone.

He wouldn't get as much flak if he stopped making those cringe inducing video titles and thumbnails or twitter remarks then proceed to act offended at the reactions despite knowing damn well that it was inevitable. That GTA response was beyond retarded especially with his history of gushing over Postal or playing mods like Moon Man.
I think the first time I raised an eyebrow at Gman's integrity was when he made his Turok 2 remaster video around early 2017, a year after his OG Turok 2 review where he flipflopped his opinion of it being aged and mediocre to something on the lines of "one of the greatest of all time" I don't mind someone having a new found respect for a game, but those statements are two polar opposite extremes in a very short time span and it just came off like his opinion was not truly honest.
