Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

I dug it. I would not have minded a bit more history up front tho. Fun video perfect Halloween vid. Also I liked the quick comment about let's do this not another horror FPS.

Definitely one of my fav games one of Civvics best. Totally kino, reminds me of just getting silly OP and having a blast.

Is that really the big thing about him? That when he does a game that he knows well or loves there's a marked difference in quality? I'm not a Civvie doomer like some of you guys and find even his weaker videos perfectly cromulent but difficult to say that there isn't a fair bit of daylight between Yet Another Indie Shooter/New Blood-circlejerk, and something the dude probably grew up with and has played >=dozen times.
Makes perfect sense to me. His best videos are about games he's actually passionate about, because you can tell he knows and cares about the subject matter. Going through a list of freshly-released boomer shooter trendchase-y slop is the equivalent of just clocking in for the day.

His mic felt quieter in this video such that I had to turn my headset up just to hear his voice.

My SOTN autism also had me balking at a few things while also questioning how he knew other things about the game as well as he did (How do you play the game for that long, know that much about it, but don't know about shield dashing?). I also don't know how I land on the jokes where he feels like he has to justify to himself (and the audience) over usage of the Alucard Shield + Shield Rod combo versus doing the game the "right" way, but I'm also of the mindset at this point of just – Fuck it. Break the game. Go ahead. Some parts of SOTN are badly designed and should be absolutely cheesed. You busted your balls getting that far to get the Alucard Shield back properly. Now break the game's balls in retaliation. You earned it.

Anyway, it was a decent video.

That's a beauty of a single player game. It doesn't have to be perfectly balanced, it just has to be fun. And certainly, having many options to solve your problem is nice, but sometimes you just want to take the overpowered crap that it has and smash its difficulty curve to powder.
"Perfectly balanced" is a noble goal, but it's not worth the enemy of being the good (game).

Civvie seems displeased with recent political events in the US.

Nah, I think he said something about how the "character" cancer mouse is all about someone that can't read the room/situation but isn't malicious or mean.
Cancer Mouse is basically your boomer uncle who hasn't caught on that QAnon is bullshit and thinks the northern lights are the results of a station in Alaska. "Unhealthy scepticism", we'll call it.
Good example is from his Pro Blood: Cryptic Passage video where CM talks about how "Star War: TLJ is trying to brainwash young men into liking strong women" and Civvie basically retorting "it's all about the fucking money!"

Not surprising seeing how he used to make plenty of snide remarks and jokes about Trump in his earlier videos. Not sure if it's his opinions or if he's just trying to cater to the troons in his community though. Seems like he's trying to be more apolitical in his videos for the past year or two though.

Let's not kid ourselves, as a YouTuber convictions are alien to his nature.

I wouldn't count on that, honestly.
As the practice shows each youtube\kick\twitch\rumble celebrity tend to be a piece of subhuman trash you'd never guess they are.

The two are not mutually exclusive, what I'm saying is unless there's shekels in it he won't come clean except for some ball fondling every now and then for each group.

Ironic, considering he is the typical GenX/early-millennial that thinks everything comes down to money/capitalism.
This form of reductionism/nihilism is the prime example of unhealthy skepticism as it breaks every incentive down to greed.
Larry Fink doesn't try to force behaviors to make a buck, George Soros doesn't buy media stations and pushes district attorneys to make a buck, Elon Musk didn't sink 42 billion into Twitter to make a buck, Bob Iger doesn't push inexperienced "diverse" directors to make a buck.
Rich people have ideology and an agenda as everyone else, but their basic needs are already secured so they can even more lean into it.

So yes, mammon is still more plausible than reptilians but at the end of the day just the midwit's choice.

Fair point, but if you want your posts taken seriously maybe you should post something else other than wojak slop to go along with them.
