Fun video overall. Never played anything outside of the shareware episode for ROTT so have no history with this but it sounds hellish. Seems designed to be save scummed. I kinda wish the video was longer and he spent more time on each level but I guess they're so basic and the gimmick so obvious that there's no reason to dwell on them.
It's like with Wolfenstein 3D: the enemy variety and the level geometry are so limited there's really not much to talk about in each stage. Wolf3D at least had the gimmicky maze or swastika tesselation levels (and the mutants were annoying but fragile), Extreme ROTT doesn't even get that. It only has extremely spongy hitscanners and annoying platforming galore.
Good video. I thought everyone hated the new maps but I never played them so what do I know. Wouldn't mind trying them after this episode.
Seeing the maps in action really makes me want to try them. Only problem is you have to buy the World Tour edition just to get your hands on the maps, which is a bit of a pain. $20 is a ridiculous price for a game like Duke Nukem 3D.
Just pirate it, Gearbox games deserve to be pirated.
I played the episode. I thought it was pretty good. The new weapon was alright. The Serious Sam reference gave me a smile.
The keys on G2A for it are very super cheap, like 2$ at best
For what i know, the third-party expansions were on a legal limbo before the Megaton Edition was released, so it's likely that Randy didn't wanted to do the paperwork to get them into his version.
Then just fucking sell the Duke Nukem IP to someone who will make a game! But he won't do that. He'll just sit on it and collect a little royalty check from it until he dies like the cocksucker that he is.
