But until then, I'll just let myself be pleasantly surprised on how he managed to keep politics out of his videos in $CURRENT_YEAR. I get the distinct feeling he's being tardwrangled in the background, so the moment his ego gets too big for that is the moment he'll slide downhill.

I have no idea what to say about Civvie not immediately seeing how brilliant Cruelty Squad is. He says he gave it twenty minutes and that's more than enough time to see how good everything is. The game has really tight controls and everything is satisfying to play. The level design starts out good and the levels are short enough that twenty minutes WILL get you to the good shit. Unless you explore, and if you do that, you should have gotten more drawn in just from seeing how much effort went into each and every single level.

Then again I'm the kind of guy who was immediately drawn in by Cruelty Squad before it became this big meme game and I fucking adore the soundtrack so maybe it's just a game that was right up my alley but I can't imagine playing it for twenty minutes and just deciding it's pure trash and refunding.

Did you watch the whole video? He actually liked the game.

I guarantee it. There's Powerslave EX that's out there and I know how you have to download some homebrew fixes to get it to work. That and Night Dive appears to be doing an official remaster soon. It will be a golden opportunity for him to go over the console version (that plays more like a gory Metroid Prime, so automatically a way better Metroid Prime) and the (sorry to say) mediocre Build Engine version. But perhaps Night Dive can massively improve upon the Build version?

Both Powerslave games are good imo, the console one is the better game, but the DOS version is still one of the better Doom clones besides the more famous ones like Heretic or Dark Forces, as long as you play it on a source port, because the original DOS version had very slow strafe movement for some reason.

I hope he waits for the Nightdive remaster, because Powerslave EX is based on the PS1 version of the game, which had cut down levels compared to the Saturn version.

I discovered Civvie's videos from watching Pyrocynical's old shitty Postal 2 videos. His Shadow Warrior series and newer stuff are really good. Glad to see his channel hasn't been tainted by toxic twitter fags and cunts alike.

Civvie also has an habit of repeating jokes, but somehow it doesn't come off near as obnoxious as when Gman does it.

At this point he should embrace his inner coomer and review only hentai games.
