Is this from ex-ubisoft staff? Everytime Ubi-people get to be CREATIVE it's a banger. I'm worried for the writing, but holy shit the artstyle looks great.

Soundtrack dropped today. Reminds me of that CK2 metal collab DLC they did. Pretty good but a little generic in my opinion. Lacking in leitmotif, but maybe I'm just not hearing it. With all the duets the story is obviously about Gustav and Maelle if the soundtrack follows the themes.

Not that big of a fan of the first song. Don’t really like metal. The 2nd and 3rd song are kino though. I always love the use of classical instruments and an orchestra in music.

I think a lot of the devs come from Ubisoft it would be impossible for them not to, being based in France. But the guys at the top are these three. I did a fair amount of digging way back when to get a handle on who they are when I saw the preview of the game a couple years ago. These are linkedin links so don't be logged into your linkedin if you click them if you're concerned that linkedin will record your profile viewing. I doxxed myself once doing that.

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were both so good, I would love some sort of PC release here soon. They've both been stuck on shit hardware for like 18 years now.
You can’t mention those without also mentioning Fantasian, which did in fact eventually escape Apple Arcade purgatory.

Also in the three niggas in a row genre, by Sakaguchi.

Was between this and oblivion remaster, but looking at the game and how it is, i think ill give Expedition 33 my money(as long as it aint complete shit) looking forward to this as a GOTY contender.

Thats cool. I hope its good too. But I am also consciously aware that the biggest promoters of the game are the lesbian voice actor of Shadowheart, a trump obsessed tard from IGN and it got a ton of grant money from the various USAID equivalents across Europe. And its seed capital came from Epic.

Very interested in this game. There was even a second of thought about buying before release, but lol no.
Waiting the reviews of my trusted reviewers, then I’ll buy it.

This is where I have suspicions about the game. There’s a trend I’ve noticed that when a game receives government funding, more so in Europe, the game is a propaganda piece that’s either subtle or not so subtle. Hopefully it’s good though.

I’m not too worried about them trying to shoehorn DEI shit in this game. The fact that all the playable characters are white and it’s unapologetically European based are good signs. The worst issues I could see is that the female characters end up being too girlbossy, but I think the studio actually wants their characters to be likable and people you root for.

Ultimately it’s a brand new studio and I just don’t see them risking success and the future of their studio and franchise just to make the heckin evil gamer chuds mad.

Steam & Switch would be such good fucking homes for those games, man.

I was glad to see that. It's definitely on my list.

If there is anything I'm thinking it'll be subtle (which is actually worse). I guess if it's hated by the usual suspects we'll know if it's good or not.

Never heard of this game before, but from the footage i have seen it looks amazing.
Gives real Persona vibes with the combat.

This game currently has a 94 score on Metacritic by the so called "game journalists", that alone is concerning.

?
If the game is good, it's good. Regardless if the high scores are given by "game journalists". If the reasoning is not about the game, but some modern political issues shoehorned into the game and thus responsible for the great critical reception, I could understand the concern. Otherwise, I don't see the problem.

Saw the beginning before the expedition starts where you walk through town and learn the mechanics with the main dude. No uggos or fatties anywhere! Almost all interactable characters were white (and not ugly), there only were some black npcs in the crowds that all looked like the same model. The expedition team has one token black guy who doesn't survive the beginning. No mentions of gay relationships. I do not think the focus on the game is on diversity or gay shit, at least that's the impression I got. The three hour demo a while ago was fine too, but who knows how the story develops.

Maybe for once "game critics" focussed more on whether the gameplay is good and not on how many genders are represented. And maybe they secretly also enjoy playing/looking at attractive characters for once.
