You could argue Muhammad is the paraclete (see John 14:15-31, in which many versions translate "paraclete" usually as "holy spirit" although that's not what it means nor what it actually says in Greek). Mani actually made that exact argument.

Regardless, remember there is absolutely zero legitimate evidence Muhammad even existed. And, no, the Quran is as much evidence that Muhammad existed as Deuteronomy is that Moses existed. There is more evidence Jesus existed (as a person, not as the son of God) than there is that Muhammad did—but this may also be a consequence of Christians actually allowing academics to question the historicity of Jesus without, you know, cutting their heads off as infidels. There's a reason the guy who edited together The Quest for the Historical Muhammad had to publish it under a pseudonym.

Well as an academic I think Israel's openness to archaeological excavation is fantastic. They actually allow people the opportunity to safely excavate ancient religious sites and better our understanding of what the region was like in the past, what Judaism was like in the past, what Christianity was like, etc. through analyzing material culture. Though the ultra orthodox population has vandalized sites, that isn't something seen as good by anyone outside those militants, really.

We could have gained a shit ton of knowledge about pre-Islamic and early-Islamic Mecca if stratigraphic excavation was allowed there, but Saudi Arabia covered the entire region in concrete and destroyed anything of value forever. Gaza is one of the oldest inhabited areas of the Near East and excavations there would be fascinating. Too bad no archaeologist can or would do research there.

But if you're talking about inherent material benefits...the region used to be famous for dates, I guess?

That doesn't make her an intermediate, Jesus states many times that he is the only mediator, and that all you have to do is come to him with your sins and problems. Praying to Mary isn't biblical, she was only a woman who honored God, and even so she being human was also a sinner who needed a savior. Man has a knack for worshiping things before God, for example the Golden Calf. they were praying to God, but were doing it through the idol.
