I think the problem is less whether or not the missiles are broken down/reassembled (they almost definitely are for transit, but that doesn't make the rocket pieces tiny) and more how far they could even haul them that way. The speed and quantity of rocketfire from Gaza to me speaks to depots out in the countryside and suburbs near the pads. Even a broken down rocket still needs volume, underground shipping would be a mess, and aboveground would be documented, so they must have some degree of local stockpiles.Given the tactics Hamas is using, they probably break down the rockets into pieces that can be carried by a person and assemble them only before firing. Same with the launch pad. Easier to hide and transport that way, don't need vehicles when you got 20 people carrying a piece each.
It's possible as the conflict goes on they'll be forced to empty Gaza proper of anything stored underground, but right now there should be some kind of sign that's actually happening, and I can't find it. Israel's very limited targeting of underground infrastructure in the city & ubiquitous leveling of civilian buildings is suspect.
