My personal favourite is weebs who spend way too much time online and get fashion advice from anime.

There's also this brand BlackMilk which does expensive nerdy tights and other spandexy things with ~alternative~ prints, which sounds great in theory but never works out quite as well irl as they end up being exceedingly unflattering.

I really cannot fathom how the higher ups at HT didn't look at these clothes and not see how tacky they really look. I've seen Sailor Moon themed clothing sold on Etsy that are a 100xs more stylish and can be worn out in public without looking too tacky.

I miss the old days of Hot Topic when it catered to goffs and edgelords. Now it just caters to people in their 20s who never outgrew Disney
The last few times I passed the closet-sized Hot Topic at the local mall it was wall to wall Funko Pops. I'm not entirely sure there was anything else in there, but I didn't go in to see if there was anything else. If the sign wasn't still the same I would've swore a completely different store moved in.

:powerlevel:I'll admit I quite like BlackMilk's selection conceptually (like hell am I gonna shell out 40 bucks for any of it though) but the "quirkiness" of their designs really does draw in the attention seeking eye cancer crowd and some of their products just wouldn't look good on anyone.

[/SPOILER]

I live in the city where it's made and people go wild for it here. As soon as a troon comes out of the closet, for some reason it's the first item of clothing they buy. I actually had a few pictures of that very same troon on file

addendum: why are all troons gigantic nerds

I like the Middle Earth map dress, but then I love maps. You'd have to be either very, very petite or tall and thin to make it work.

The Fairy Kei boy (glitter nose) looks pretty good in terms of the fashion, I feel. However I still stand by my opinion that it works excellently for modeling looks but terribly for daily wear. I do feel like dramatic fashion like that should be more accepted in public, but the fact of the matter is it isn't and people have to respect that.

Yeah, I like the look of the space prints, but I also know that I'd look incredibly stupid if I tried to wear them. I'd much rather have them as some sort of print or calendar (and I think even a print would be a bit weird).

Actually I can attest to modcloth once being good as I still have a few of their products lying around. But they became ham hash Tumblr trash and think it's all plus size and great, and that's usually because their plus size clothing would sell out first and thus they catered more.

Blue dress is nice, and I think it could even be nice on her if it actually fit and if she weren't pairing it with, um, everything else. There's no reason to wear calf-length leggings, ever.
Jean vest outfit...okay, she's fat. Everything she wears is going to look like that. I am, as always, irrationally annoyed by top-of-foot tattoos. I don't think the outfit is inherently awful.
Shorter blue dress...again the accessories/hair is atrocious, but it's also her. The dress isn't bad, though.
Polka dot...no. Too many polka dots. She looks like if you had to convey two unrelated things with one picture and yours were 'measles' and 'Czech music'. The jumper is nice and the shoes are fine, although I don't get why they're splaying out like that. And a Crocs handbag (?)...why?

I remember ModCloth and their weird, "quirky" descriptions of their clothing (like the "trans-inclusive feminist Fight For Your Equal Rights leggings")...they sort of struck me as a try-too-hard Urban Outfitters.

Also, am I the only person who just hates any type of "message t-shirt" (like the "feminist" ones in this thread)? Like even if I agreed with the message, I still wouldn't wear it in public for fear of coming across as a huge, self-important douchebag.
