and now they attack entire organizations and making them crazy.

Most recent, and what spurned this thread, is CNN losing their shit over a wrestling meme, then threatening to dox a rando if he didn't apologize

Their whole staff is going insane on air, look at Sally Kohn losing her shit over a meme

I'd argue that's the best part, and that they've doubled down on it. It's like showing someone on TV literally eating another human, and saying, "Hey, it wasn't a baby, so we're totally justified!" It's demonstrably a shitty tyrannical thing they're doing from self professed impunity that they would immediately REEEE at their counterpart over.

Funny you use that example, since one of CNN'S employees (since fired I think) ate a human brain as part of some news story/documentary on an indigenous culture not too long ago. He got progressively nuttier too, which led people to believe the guy contracted Kuru from the brain buffet he had.

They're acting more like Vordrak actually. We'd have just doxed this guy, not gone all "nice life you have there. . .be a shame if you got doxed" as an attempt to intimidate the guy. Fuck, some mod did this stunt and got the fuck mocked out of them just last week. It's not acceptable even here. CNN went lower than we go and into Vordy territory.

All they needed was a "Kind Regards."

The Trump tweet was unprofessional and unbecoming for the role of the President, but 100% in line what we expect from Trump.

But, literally everyone from NPR to Fox News is condemning this, this is not a hill you want to die on fam.

CNN is the ESPN of news coverage and it really shows when they spent 30 minutes staring at an empty podium that Trump *might* have spoke at. Its not that they share false coverage of a story, its that their coverage of things tend to be really shallow and focused only on views and ad revenue.

Also, for the last 20 years or so, they've done nothing but act as stenographers for the White House, just regurgitating whatever the government spoon feeds them, like a bunch of utterly useless fucking mongoloids. A parrot could do the job these idiots do.

Now they have a President who is completely useless at that, shitposts Tweets all day instead, sends out clowns who tell three different contradictory stories before breakfast, and they're so unused to doing anything resembling an actual job that they think hunting down someone because the President retweeted their shitpost, then extorting them into a sad North Korean type apology and a promise never to use their First Amendment rights again, under threat of doxing, is somehow journalism.

I guess I don't know, since the POTUS retweeted it on his personal and Presidential accounts. It's not just one of us retweeting shit, it's the President, you dig?

I'm not saying the press should never shine light on people who deserve to be shamed. But CNN played this totally wrong. They're shaming the wrong person and doing it in a way that makes it look like blackmail.

This guy is an asshole, but he's not the story. He just made a dumb gif. He's one of thousands pumping them out.

I agree that story is that Trump retweeted that gif to make a statement about the press that no sitting president should ever make. He's the one that's actually doing the damage.

To me this is like tracking down the rando who factory-assembled the particular gun that a mass shooter used to shoot a protestor, then suggesting they'll reveal his identity unless he stops assembling guns. Sure, technically he's in the chain of respnsibility for the shooting, but not in a meaningful way - not even if he turns out to be a racist shithead.

CNN was just investigating, and attempting to contact the person who made the gif. In the course of their investigation they found he was making a lot of racist comments. When they asked him for comment he posted the apology on his own, deleted his history and comments, then contacted CNN and confirmed who he was. Very shortly after, his apology was Deleted by mods at T_D.

CNN then posted their side of the story, admitting they knew who he was, but said they wont post his name, because he seems to be legitimately sorry for his past comments

But they also said they reserve the right to reveal his name if he no longer appears to be sorry, and thats where things get morally dubious.

Regardless of your personal feelings on the man, he got elected as the leader of the free world acting like that. Changing it up would be foolish of him

This I can get behind.

It wasn't even bad by Trump tweet standards. Maybe CNN doesn't know this, but wrestling is a joke. It's fake. Like CNN's news.

They can't do anything to hurt Trump, but they feel their salt requires blood so they decided they'll go after a defenseless rando and tell themselves they won a glorious battle anyway. It's as if a guy in your school challenges you to a fight and you refuse to fight him, but then you go slap his baby sister in kindergarten and still expect the rest of your classmates to think you're a badass.
