Dev interview dropped and despite there only being one prior game and said game ending on a cliffhanger this is a hard reboot of the series and contains no plot points or characters from the first game.

The plot and setting of the first game are stupid and forgettable so I get that much. They're still skinwalking the IP but it's not like there's much of an IP to skinwalk. Who really knows.

The weird thing that it was in the same universe as God Eater, which seems to also be dead. Either they want to reboot to remove the reference or they want to reboot God Eater as well.
