Those professions still require years of training and experience before you're making true money.
Depends on what you consider "real money". You can make near 60K a year out of school with any of those degrees. Regardless, in my experience, a medical degree is the only thing in college you can go for that still practically guarantees a job related to your field of study.
I have an EET degree, and so far it's been insufficient to be considered for professional jobs, while McWagie jobs consider me over-qualified. I should probably suck it up, get my masters, and become a professor at this point.

I'd assume teaching has some benefits over your typical STEM desk job: unionized, public sector, very in demand profession, can be done nearly anywhere in the country, active most of the day, have tangible impact on the world, social, more time off (though less flexible).

Yes a lot of these have drawbacks (e.g. salary is adjusted for the amount of time off) or aren't for everyone, but my point is it's probably a fine back up plan if you can't find a way to pivot to something else you'd like more in a reasonable amount of time/money.
