YBZ has consistently praised some rougher-looking indie comics. Recently, he was raving about a comicbook by that guy who liked to fuck trannies and called out Mags and co a while ago, and the art looked as rough as 499. I mean, the dude loves Rob Liefeld, the fact he even likes good art is a miracle...
Hell, even in every Squirell Girl video he made, he was saying "Erica Henderson is talented and can draw but she phones it in".
Plus, if 499 does not sell well, he won't blame the consumers as nazis who do not like his vision, but will try to find a way to make more comics he likes and break even like a businessman. Or just take the hint that this shit won't sell.
Which was the point of his videos since 2017.
As with other -gates people are just adding stuff they want to see to what is being said.
The Captain Marvel page is still an abomination.
Yes, I would never back 499, it is a waste of paper. Would probably read a webcomic version of it though, because it looks like someone who can draw did make an intentionally crude webcomic and it deserves to be mocked for it.
And I can't see why he is not making more Jawbreakers books. Or, maybe, I can see why he doesn't and this is what makes most of his criticisms feel so wrong. He made a career out of mocking underpaid creators who phone in stories they do not care about and know that nobody would read so they could indulge themselves, yet he cannot be arsed to make more stories for a comicbook people are excited about because: "they are not good enough".
And then, he repeats every mistake those SJWs made all those years, because, in the end, it is not about political leanings but it isabout creators believing their bad ideas can make it.
EVS is a 27 years veteran, he can sell shit because he knows that some shit he comes up with will not sell at all.
Alright, first thing you learn in combat is: "do not take the fucking punch. Take it, and you will have zero experience. Because you die"
I think TUG lost his channel.
Well it looks like his channel is still there.

He already is, at this point.I'm starting to think Zack is going to retire from comics or just let others work on his books soon.
This is the third time in a month I've heard someone say they're never spending money on a Disney product again. Personally I was at that point years ago, but it seems the sentiment is getting more common. At what point will this start to cut into their profits/cultural foothold? It seems like they might finally be reaching that vague tipping point where they're alienating more people than they're attracting.I'm never going to pay money to see another Disney/Marvel product.
This slugline might be more alluring if anyone had a clue what type of comics are known to be found on the floor of a Tijuana restroom.indie comic you'd find on a men's room floor in Tijuana
Good.I think TUG lost his channel.
Am I crazy or did early on Zack talk about only planning on being in "comics" for like 5 years? I feel like that was something he said before but that was back when he only had Jawbreakers and maybe Iron Sights in the pipeline. He already is, at this point.
He’s only the “idea guy” on 499 and Impossible Stars.
R&RN, he did some script work on, however Chuck still has first billing.
Expendables has nothing to do with him outside of project management and a variant cover, not counting fulfillment which we all know he’s incredibly fucking up.
The only things that he’s actually fully written recently are Pandemic and No, which got… quite mixed results, and 2/3rds of Grand Bizarre, which has a backup story not by him.
If Zack continues on this road then years later people will probably say that Waid was right in trying to cancel him. Wrong reasons and all that, but at some point we probably will have to ask if Zack is just stupid or is he scamming his remaining followers.I’ve been asking that ever since he cucked out to Mark Waid.

Do Mexicans read indie comics while they shit in a public restroom? Do they just leave the comic on the floor afterwards? Is this a common enough occurrence for people to relate to it?

In general Zack's "story" is rather fascinating. When problems with Waid started he was in perfect position, it did look like he could make an impact and change the game a bit. Yet since then he probably did every single thing wrong.
Jim Lee's Wildcats versus Ed Piskor's Deadliest Girl
Sadly, no. Susan just forced him to stand in the corner for awhile.I think TUG lost his channel.
Sssh, frog has double standards so he's just going to gloss over that. His "wife" is back in the dick pic grifting game (he's literally a cuck, if you didn't already know)
Honestly, guys, if you have to try to convince people that the art is good, it's probably not. Comics are visual. If the art doesn't engage you and make you want to spend money, then it's not good. Narwhal's stuff may be "good" for an experimental artsy thing you might give a shot for $3.99 if you happened to see it and were curious about it and it was a slow week at the shop, but this ain't something a lot of people would chuck $25 at. It's ugly. It's not rendered well. The linework is crap. Seeing pro artists try to convince us that this is good is insulting.
What do you mean? Are you telling me artwork of this caliber isn't just oozing with the author's talent? It's literally visual poetry man.I don’t want to show my power level here, I’m not in the comics art community, but another art community and if someone came to the shop with this, he’d be told no and get out.
In my Opinion. It’s got the same visual poetry as the dude who likes to scream mein Kampf downtown. It’s glaringly bad, ill formed and only real success is getting attention. What do you mean? Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I'd seen pro comic artists dissect guys' submissions brutally, even if it looked above average to the untrained eye. Once I saw Mark Bagley open a guy's portfolio and say "What the hell is this?". Ouch.@Miniluv

I think this is the peak of work from any comic artist that I've ever seen. This isn't just work that's being propped up by the big names surrounding it, absolutely not. Let me remind you of the garbo shit discussed a few weeks ago that any tried and true CG follower rightfully said was awful. There's a clear difference in talent here, wouldn't you say?

I dunno. Many of you follow FROG a hell of a lot more than I do.Sssh, frog has double standards so he's just going to gloss over that.
He does a panel with flash every Friday and he said his copyright was censorship no matter if you like cug or not.Is he still buddy-buddy with TUG?
