How much does everyone think the Cyberfrog 3 will make once it launches? I’m gonna say it breaks 200k in 30 days and it will hit 350k when the campaign is inevitably stretched out for a year.

Part of me understands how he got into the situation; gotta make hay while the sun shines and there's never been any guarantee that 'CG' would be a thing five years from now or even one year from now. Given that, it makes sense to take on as many projects as you can while you can (the warehouse, Creed and Snowman, the toys, etc).

Not surprising at all. If late books are starting to bite, I imagine there would have been less grief and panic if the entire thing was built on Frogs actual talents BOOKS with ART in them and not I-want-to-be-Howard-Stern-in-my-60s, chasing the political equivalent of fidget spinners, chopping up Captain Marvel dolls and breathing hard at Anna.

What happens if and when the CG bubble bursts? Are EVSs audience, warehouse etc. safely secured like game show prizes? Will there be anything to put in the warehouse if the primary appeal of Cyberfrog books was the comicsgate grift?

It will hit 200k in one day and be a million by the end of the month.
My initial thought was to agree with @Analog Devolved, but I went and looked at the Rekt Planet campaign comments. Here are the 6 newest comments( at least at the time of typing this).

The oldest comment is from 4 days ago, so all 6 are pretty fresh. 4 out of the 6 comments are negative and the other 2 are positive. What stood out to me though were the thumbs up and thumbs down on the comments. The 4 negative comments have Thumb up percentages of: 100% thumbs up(10up/0down) , 96% thumbs up(23up/1down), 96% thumbs up(22up/1down) and 96% thumbs up(22up/1down). The 2 positive comments have a Thumb up parentage of: 27% thumbs up(3up/8down) and 11% thumbs up(3up/24down). Now I know this is a small sampling of just the 6 newest comments, but not only are there more negative comments, the thumbs up percentages on the negative comments and the thumbs down on the positive comments are significantly higher than the thumbs down on the negative comments and thumbs up on the positive comments. As you can see from the comments themselves and the data on the Thumbs ups, backers are starting to get more and more frustrated, with 1 talking about waiting for the books to be done before purchasing them and another talking about waiting until 2028 :optimistic: and getting the whole series then.

Looking at all of this, I am not sure it will hit the million mark. My just throwing numbers out there guess is 200-300k day one, 800k total. I will say I wont be surprised if it does reach the million dollar mark, because the CG autist masses are always looking for that new shiny thing, and @FROG is usually pretty good at making that new shiny thing to make them wet their pants and scream "I gotta have that" regardless of what happened in the past. Honestly though, I am looking forward to seeing what the real numbers are.

The lateness with this one is impossible to defend. Nobody really believes that he's spent the past year+ slaving away in a warehouse personally packing and shipping boxes for other unrelated campaigns (that nobody asked for by the way). Even the Warts and All thing was drawn decades ago and just repackaged for resale.

As am I. I don’t think it‘s gonna touch a million at all. My guess is 600k tops and that’s only after he does a foil cover variant, honeycomb box relaunch after the intital campaign ends and that is with all the Campaigns he will launch added together. EVS has pissed a lot of his costumers off with his shenanigans.

The CG brand bubble popped way back in early 2021 and as a means of sparking a successful a youtube channel fell off long before that. The fanbase that's around today is definitely based around individual figures and in Frog's case they're not going anywhere CG or no CG barring some sort of Preston-esque scandal or the Marlston pizza parlor installing CCTV on the premises or something.

"The Comicsgate grift" was a means of getting exposure along with thousands of initial customers and his work on youtube is a means of bringing in even more, but actually delivering seems to be the only real way of retaining them unless he wants to grind and replenish said base for each campaign. Which at this point given his youtube metrics and the calibre of guests he has to work with, is starting to look like more of a slog than just drawing the thing.

All that said, I think at this point no matter what happens Frog personally will be fine (the ~100 other creators are another story). Whether CG as a whole will amount to anything beyond him being his generation's answer to what happened to John Byrne or Steve Ditko (an obscure but fervent following centered around an eccentric comics outcast) though remains to be seen.

Could be worse.

For example, Richard has decided to renege on the pin-ups tiers on his campaign today, For some reason, despite being aware of being gouged on his fulfillment center's value added service model for over a year, he's only doing something it about now as he (allegedly) enters the final stretch of his extremely late campaign. If any of his customers backers want their money back for goods ordered two years ago that won't be delivered, they'll have to coordinate a refund with him personally.
Just another example of the fun and superior experience that is crowdfunding with Meyer over buying comics.

What are you lolling at, homie? Maybe Poulter's words are not literally true yet but it's getting there.

Getting really tired at the justifications and lack of seriousness these guys have for not being men of their word. Aren't you all based and red-pilled conservative Christians who believe in things like personal honor and honesty? At what point does the shame finally become unbearable?

What did you think you'd gain by, first, following your haydurs' Twitter feeds to find and screenshot tweets like these, then secondly, turning around and posting them on the Farms? Did you think it'd get you asspats? More money? Less anger at your late book?

Ethan, get off the goddamned Internet and ship your goddamned books. If that means having your wife hide your smartphone and modem somewhere for a few weeks, do it. Be a man of honor and ship your book. And if Zack ever sees this post somehow, same to you too.

Edit: I just realized the date on that post is actually from two years ago. Don't think that changes anything though.

Fair point, my thinking is set on the 'Wall Rose' of comicsgate.

Whether CG as a whole will amount to anything beyond him being his generation's answer to what happened to John Byrne or Steve Ditko (an obscure but fervent following centered around an eccentric comics outcast)

Or to pick two names doing the rounds on KF recently, Erik Larsen or Ken Penders?

Of those four, I guess John Byrne is the one whose fame, outside an aging knot of fanboys, is not increasingly represented by a weird fixation comparable to Ethan's political potstirring.

I suppose it'd keep him comfortable, even if Zaslav kills off the red lanterns.

For example, Richard

Oh, Richard. Well now, Richard. Much as I think the Fandom-Menace-wielding-a-micron thing isn't the optimal approach for building a comics business, Frog's not quite at the point of repeatedly stabbing himself in the belly while coughing his death haiku.

Indiegogo gripes
Miss the point of crowdfunding
Getting burned is fun

Edit: I just realized the date on that post is actually from two years ago.

He's held onto that for a while. I wonder if he has a special TUG-style folder.

The book is already later than the estimated ship date by almost a year. I'm anxious to ship it, but it isn't finished yet. Might as well get it right and take the beatings for it being late, because they're going to happen anyhow.

I saved Poulter's stupid tweet because people seem equally anxious to see me fail, and make bad predictions hoping it'll happen. I was late with Bloodhoney, and we still did great on Rekt Planet.
We'll do fine with Red Extermination, but the most important thing is that the second book be as good as I can make it.

Bloodhoney still sells like crazy on our eBay store and on the Bloodhoney Box campaign. We're bringing in nearly a quarter of a million per year on sales of CyberFrog product from our store. FPqRTrWXsAIAKOX.jpg

We hear from new fans every day. We ship existing product quickly, and there is tremendous interest in Rekt Planet. Completely understand. It needs to be EXCELLENT. And unlike Bloodhoney, I'm going to complete the chapter before I send it to print.

If you like CYBERFROG or my artwork, you'll LOVE this. You'll see that it, along with every other book we've produced in the past two years, is worth the wait.

Is Reignbow going to be completed and shipped before you start off on 3, or is that getting delayed even further?

Reignbow the Brute will be drawn while Rekt Planet is being printed, and the Second Chance IGG campaign for Rekt Planet runs.

I'm not sure when CF 3 is funding. Hopefully this year.
I'm running two campaigns for sure though.
1. 2nd Chance Rekt Planet
2. Unfrogettable Tales Collected hardcover.

While it’s printing is one thing, yet won’t you want to be actively on YT streams promoting the reprint at the same time instead? That’s exactly the thing that got to this point.
