He eventually got the comic done years later, after Wal-Mart buyers bought the comics for 50 cents in the bargain bin and putting out multiple interviews to the press saying he was never Comicsgate.
Is there actually any proof of the 50 cent thing?

Understand that I'll believe the Walmart deal did bad, but I'm not gonna take Peggy's word for it. He cites no sources whatsoever.

A photo circulated of a Red Rooster comic with a 50 cent sale sticker slapped over the price. Was it real? Probably not.
Agreed.

Bleeding Cool had a story a while back that was complaining about the fact Walmart defaced them with price stickers, despite the fact they DON'T need them. But it didn't mention 50 cents. It says right in the article the price is $4.98. Ostensibly, they redundantly defaced them with the actual retail price before Mitch told them to stop.

Then you have a video from April of this year that reviews the Walmart editions, and also mentions $4.98 being the price. Preston did his video a month earlier. Who to believe? Do you even have to ask?

This smells like a gay op. Funny to some extent maybe, but still a gay op. Who would do this? Well, aside from backers upset it made it into retail stores before they got them, it's not like there's no opposition to this deal from the "SJW side." Case in point:

Plenty of suspects here I would imagine. It would be hilarious if it turned out Preston himself circulated that picture. He's a paragon of morals and honesty. 🙄

I never saw that Sean Kleefeld article. What a fucking piece of shit.
That article is left wing bullshit and I don't how @Captain Manning even found it since any and all criticism of the breitweisers is suppressed by their PR firm.

Mitch is NOT comicsgate. He's a huge fag, yes. A fucking fake phoney bitch and the retail stickers are real but it may have been someone Peggy knows at Walmart with a price gun or just a random worker. It's really easy and you can literally mark any product down and all it logs is total dollars so a 4.50 reduction isn't going to raise red flags.

As an addendum the book is possessed and drop shipped by reader link, not Walmart. So Walmart isn't buying any more of those comic shippers. You can buy any book in reader links catalog from Walmart.

Easy. I just typed "Comicsgate Walmart" into Google while investigating this.

I was looking into whether this .50 cent story was true (I did and do find it very doubtful), and I stepped into this piece of dogshit on the way. Wasn't even looking for it. First page, no less.

There's also a Renfamous Tweet crowing about how RR backers got screwed.

AND a news item from the Arkansas Times that talks about the Brietweisers but then launches into the obligatory crap about how CG is a hate campaign. @FROG is quoted.

I would submit their PR Firm sucks ass if a barely computer literate pseudo-boomer like me can find these three things on the first page of a Google search.

No argument here.

I really like Mitch Breitweiser's art style. Especially those fountain pen stuff look cool to me. @FROG show was truly amazing when Doug, Mitch, Miller, Anthony, Edwin, Cecil, Zack (I am forgetting couple more) were all more or less around and sane.

I believe If instead of pulling a indie creators commie gobbledygook they could all unite under a company or something at that time, curate, check and support each others projects. It would grow much more than any of one. Less drama and a fun show would be still around. but of course hindsight is cock and balls

I miss those days, they were actually funny back then and Mike getting ragged on was my favorite part of the show. CG felt so strong back then when they had the lineup you mentioned. Unfortunately, things change. Now They try to make Shane fill that void where Mike was but, he doesn’t have enough personality and doesn’t know how to give it back the way Mike did.

But once money gets involved, shit starts to hit different, egos start to get a little more bigger and fragile, then success starts breeding contempt. Now CG feels kind of hollow now Compared to how it was back then. Maybe it’s just nostalgia talking but, I’m pretty sure a lot more people feel the same way.

Thanks. I didn't know if any of that was worth archiving, since half that shit was stuff I stumbled upon while looking for something else.

I guess the real drama was the friends shit we I found along the way. 😂

Red Rooster isn't horrible looking, although it's not really my aesthetic.

I think the biggest problem with Mitch is that he crowdfunded a comic, and then launched it in retail BEFORE the backers got what they backed. That's honestly pretty fucked up.

It would never work. Such a venture would spontaneously combust into a five alarm autism fire.

No one ever said mitch was a bad artist. You sound like a complete retard though.

Miss the days that never actually existed? As far as I know Mitch used EVS to prove he had access to high tier artists and Ethan banged his wife Betty.

Huh? Where did you get that Ethan banged Betty? And why would he need Ethan to prove that he had high tier artists? The proof is when the customer looks at the book and can see that it’s high tier art.

I will concede that he used Ethan to promote his brand and then dump the CG label when it became convenient to do so.

Mitch invited Ethan down to Bentonville to the Walmart meeting as proof he could get high tier people. He did a presentation for Walmart with fancy slideshows and shit.

They went to the art museum, and as the story goes, EVS banged Betty back at his hotel later that night. I don't blame him bro she's fucking hot.

lmao you neglected abuse victim I am not arguing with you or anyone I saw Mitch was mentioned and typed out my thoughts without reading anything

I agree, I am sure the new people are nice but they wont deliver if they are expected to fill previous people's shoes.

Yeah, I heard he banged Wilma.

Let's not get ridiculous.

It's a lot better than Narwhal, yes.

Okay, okay... it's in the top half of CG art I've seen.

I dunno if any of that is true, but uhhh...

7/10. Maybe 7.5 if I were being generous. Mitch did good for himself here.

I think the story is funnier when cuckolding is involved and if some newfag wants to come here to reminisce about Edwin Boyette and Mitch, by God that's how I'm telling the story.
