I wasn't aware I
ever claimed that it wouldn't fulfill. On time, or otherwise. Only that I found the concept ridiculous. As did others here.
Hell, it's not a Comicsgate comic, strictly speaking, so of course the odds were more on the side of the fulfillment being
competently handled. You know the statistics on this better than I.
So, as you say: Just like Kamen America.
I'm just being a dick. Being more jaded with comics and Comicsgate in particular than most, the bar is set so low in my eyes that simply delivering what was promised in a timely manner is a big victory in of itself. The goal was to produce "good comics" that could compete with the mainstream and so prevent creators from being blacklisted; "good" is ultimately subjective, but producing a comic is not. The people who backed the giant fetish comic got what they wanted, the people left waiting for years for what they paid for can't really say the same. You find the concept of the comic is ridiculous. I find your taunting Frog about it on KiwiFarms resulting in him endorsing a comic book that actually fulfilled in under six months for what feels like the first time ever even more ridiculous.
Damegang 2 or even
Damegang 3 might be in backers' sweaty, hairy palms before we see Jon Malin's
Godlike or Art Thibert's
Black and White 2.
This is absolutely the case. You can easily find CG'ers simping for Nadine as well, telling her they "value her insight" and that she seems like a "fun friend".
These are middle aged men who probably view their own sons as sexual competition, going behind their wives backs to verbally hover-hand a deranged whore on the internet. Then they hop on the "family friendly" programs and preach Christian values. I agree that a legit social movement would reject these women and a business would capitalize on them. The hypocrisy comes from the the fact that CG tries to be both at once.
This always struck me as something that's been around since the beginning of Comicsgate; that it was composed of, in part, a large number of staunch moral conservatives but also a great number of middle aged men who remember things like the Marvel Swimsuit Specials and other such things from the 90s, who rail how cheesecake specialist artists like Frank Cho and J Scott Campbell are now branded as "problematic" by da SJWs. Both found the current state of the comic industry very objectionable and found common ground on that, at least for a time.
Now to me the decline of cheesecake comic art, or "ass ass titty" as Dan Fraga calls it, directly correlates with the ubiquity of free porn on the internet, drawn or otherwise. The days of paying top dollar to hold a few well placed circles on a piece of paper representing some superheroine tits in a string bikini are over. Unless of course, that is your
fetish. As the years have gone on by, with Frog favoring content that leans towards his own shock jock predilections, the boring moral conservatives have moved on and left the weird coomer fetishist holdouts to try and fill both roles with limited success. But as long as this target demo exists, things like Shane Davis' variant cover of some chick's ass, Jon Malin's $25
Visions consisting of swimsuit pin-ups of various CG characters and, of course,
DAMEGANG will always have a receptive audience.
Which leads us to, inevitably, the subject of Dan Plegel or "BoobDan" as he normally goes by, and his debut Comicsgate crowdfund,
The Goblin Girl, currently out now.
Now, BoobDan's breast fetish comic is delivered in a way that makes previous efforts like
Pirate Queen and
Damegang looks subtle and nuanced in comparison, and I'd argue is the ongoing logical conclusion. What's next from here? Manning, will you throw the gauntlet down on
The Goblin Girl next? In conclusion, I would like to leave the following thoughts by Comicsgate "#Crackpack" hypeman Darren Waggoner, aka "DWAGG" these days:
