Y'know, my brain is such an overflowing toilet these days I barely remember the drama around all of this. I think the split started with @FROG correctly pointing out that YouTube channels that do nothing but consummmm Woke content, even if they're criticizing it, are basically useless when it comes to fostering any sort of change in Hollywoke. But I think it was him making fun of the train wreck that was the Zack Synder livestream with Geeks and Gamers than sealed the deal.

Oddly, Jeremy from Geeks and Gamers seems to have shrugged this off from what I've seen, even admitting he didn't handle that livestream correctly. He seems to not bear grudges like Nerdrotic does, though I could be wrong.

No, just that Nerdrotic has disowned both. Ryan Kinel (correctly) pointed out that Doomcock has never gotten any of his wild ass predictions correct on a livestream. He then went quite a bit beyond that into a lot of personal insults, basically called him a scam artist. And Gary did nothing, said nothing, basically agreeing with Kinel and throwing his long time collaborator -- they even used to do a livestream together on (I think) Sunday nights on paranormal crap -- under the bus. But that was the end of that.

The WorldClassBullshiters business is such a soap opera I won't even pretend to be able to name the full cast of characters. IIRC professonal hambeast Mecharandom42 accused somebody on Midnight's Edge of inapporopriate sexual something or other. One of her best internet buddies is that gal who's name I can't even remember, but she looks like a pug with a blond buzzcut. (Jessi something?) Anyhoo that gal stood with Mecha, and she happens to be WorldClassBS's girlfriend, though I'm not even sure they're still together. In any event WorldClassBS sided with them, Nerdrotic with Midnight's Edge.

The finale here was a huge blow up at some stupid Las Vegas Star Trek convention or other where the WorldClassBS people showed up to a get together uninvited. Apparently Mrs. Nerdrotic also got involved, lots of shrieking and demanding they leave Naaaooowwww. The end.

BTW, since I'm thinking of Nerdrotic, it just dawned on me I've not seen his biggest paypiggie mentioned in months. Geeoorrrggggeeeee, where are you? Hopefully didn't give his last shekels to Gary and is now living under a highway underpass.

Az was angry and demanded an apology. I apologized on my livestream. He demanded I send him a personal apology via email in a rant on FNT that said, "I'll stand by my friends, nobody calls them zeroes" etc etc.


I was baffled by his refusal to accept my public apology, and apologized again, saying that I don't have his email or any other way to contact him.

Az, again, refused to accept my second apology, saying, "He's apologizing to his audience, NOT TO ME." And he went on to say that as long as things weren't right between us, he wouldn't help promote my Action Figure campaign. Fuck that.

Gary nodded that he agreed with all of this, and I've been shut out of communication with almost all of FNT.

I can't really make things right with Gary or Az because it'll be perceived that I'm only doing it because I want their promotion, rather than their fellowship. I've decided I don't like them very much.

The quality depends sometimes. Berserk was coming out bi-weekly for 20 years and the art there is better than anything in CG and pretty much most stuff in mainstream.
The manga artists are just different and take their job very serious, cause sales/popularity can go down and you need to make new stuff up. Exception are of course HunterXHunter and Berserk, who are huge and the artists can/could get a long break and still come back and continue the series.
I also already commented this, but Evs saying Akira Toriyama is an amateur was one of the most retarded things i ever heard. You really need to be stupid to call someone that was producing at least 15 pages every week for 15 years an amateur. Ohh and all of that with just one assistant that was working just 2 days per week. And while producing the manga, also working on designs for games like Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger... This can't compare to anything in american comics.
So yea, its much better to throw money at manga, which also has good stories, than wait for a 50 page book that an artist needs 4 years to draw. Id say thats a real amateur.

I actually got to read the entire DBZ manga online and what kept me coming back was how strong his style was in the comic book panel format. The line work is incredible and a much better effort than what the vast majority of american pros were doing at that time. I'd argue that reading the manga was a lot more enjoyable than watching the show because all the action was condensed and the story flowed better than the cartoon which often had to place hours of filler episodes and overextended combat sequences to artificially extend the content.

Ethan casting aspersions at Akira's art style simply due to the faces or some dumb shit on the cartoon would be akin to criticizing Jim Lee X-Men comics based off the 90s cartoon.

Oh it matters for sure. One look at that cross just above the crotch design tells me the hype won't last that long. Eric's campaign is more akin to Keanu's campaign than it is to the rest of CG because it's based upon an already established notoriety that is seeking to cash out in other lesser venues.

For as poorly planned as Dragon Ball's story is, to the point that Toriyama's coworkers would give him shit over it, the art is full of life and movement; I can scarcely think of a bad panel. Today I was reading some older stuff like Cyborg 009, and yeah, you can very clearly see the clean line of flow that's evident in Dragon Ball, which makes sense given Toriyama grew up on 60s manga. 009's art almost borders on being too simple, but it works very well for lines of rhythm/action with the pacing and layouts. Similarly, It seems to me like capeshit art in the late 60s and early 70s had the best flow. Your average mod Wonder Woman issue has more charisma in it than whatever's being churned out now usually. For better or worse, the late 80s is when a lot of grungier more avant-garde styled art started to become popular, which would usually end up in a few years on the newly founded Vertigo in the early 90s (e.g. The Sandman). I recall Wonder Woman's 3rd volume reboot for post-crisis around that time having some nice layouts for the first arc dealing with Ares, but generally I think a lot of what came about in the 90s for DC was pretty trashy and ugly (esp for Action Comics and TEC titles). Occasionally within the past 13 years or so, you get these stunning looking books, like Batwoman Elegy, but by the end of the 4th volume and onward it ends up looking like an amateur was hired. The same thing happened to Lucifer too.

Ethan released a fully colored image from Cyborgfrog 2 and apparently nobody explained to Kyle how reflections work. The reflections in Cyborgfrog's shoulder and chest plate are the most mindboggling and distracting coloring choices I've ever seen in a comic.

The only drawback that manga has opposed to American comics is that they're only in black and white but recently they've been coming out with colorize editions of them recently and look pretty damn good. I remember buying the first edition of Shonen Jump when it came out here in the States, I was little back then and I thought that it was a coloring book and try to fill in some of the panels in with crayons.
