I'm late to this, but I found this very interesting from Ethan's latest action figure campaign.

It's not enough to pay for the goods, you also have to be a Youtube member to even be allowed to do so. The campaign raised 200 grand but he's still gotta milk the paypigs.

I like that even when they're seething about EVS buttfucking them, they have to lie about Eric. I was gonna ignore it because they're always mad about Eric, but Lukas said such an insane number that I had to check for myself. Why lie about something so easy to verify?

That's the thing. He's not. Eric July, whatever you think about the quality of his work, gets his shit out on time.

It's FROG and most of the rest of CG that's chronically late.

FROG is seething because Eric July's campaigns pull in more money, and consumers actually appreciate they don't have to wait four years for a mediocre comic book. That's it. That's what this is all about.

I think the most lol worthy thing he did was anout muh roads, which was long before he ever started his comic book company and was a one-off from his usual venting.

Otherwise, he’s not funny. It’s the idiot critics that can’t finish their Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns that are the funny ones.

That's one of the things his non-CG critics like to bring up: His old "bitch ass roads" rant from four years ago.

The thing is, if you made a thread on him based on that, you'd have to threads on a whole bunch of other anarcho-libertarians and the servers would probably halt and catch fire under the strain.

Wake me if and when his lolbertarianism get half as degenerate as Juju or Rekieta, and we'll talk. Thus far he's doing a pretty decent job staying away from that level of extremity. Based upon tweets I've seen of his, he at least seems amenable to the idea of the government prohibiting the sexual exploitation of children and dogs. You can thank Vito and KatyDid, respectively, for that.

Another thing is FROG is running with this narrative that Flash isn't paying his cover artist for the book he's working on, when it has been made clear several times now that the artist has agreed to be paid a percentage of the book sales.

Is that a smart arrangement? I dunno, but if it's mutually agreed upon by both parties beforehand, why should I even give a fuck? It's a private business deal between two private parties.

FROG's post almost makes it seem angry that he didn't manage to get $4k out of Flash, and Flash decided to go with something else.

FROG seems way more concerned about how his critics are paying for shit, and far less concerned about his own customers getting the product they paid for a long time ago. FROG casting aspersions about other people's shitty business practices is just too much.

Maybe the artist liked the story and thinks it will sell? Maybe he is good friends with YF and decided to make him a good price? Maybe he was promised more work? Whatever it was, the guy considers it was fair. None of EVS 's business especially if he is to lie about it.

EVS 's work ethic and price model costed him a job. From now on, people who approach him will want his platform, not his business. Seriously, 4K for a cover? In this economy? From an indie?
