I'll make Trump memes all the live-long-day. I'll argue with idiots about dumb shit like Haitians eating cats and dogs.
But what is most cringe in life?
Selling unlicensed Trump merch.

Selling unlicensed Kamala merch?
Very cool.

Unlicensed Joe Biden merch?
Also very cool.

But trying to out Trump Trump, is just idiotic.
The guy slapped his name as big as it would fit on the front of gold skyscrapers across North America...
TRUMP STEAKS for fuck's sake!

Don't try to out do the guy that flies around in a jet with his name on the side (several times).
Just don't.

I say this about Trump Space Force, MAGAdemia, and MAGAlorian as well.

It seem thinking critical has officially called out Zack

Given it's Zack, it's a word salad. A long, meandering word salad that goes off on tangents before insinuating things about other Youtubers, and ends with an advertisement for his cut and paste collage project.

I figured out something about him. Zack sees the act of watching movies as a primarily social activity (even though he seems to go by himself). This is why he thinks not watching the Acolyte when it's fresh and new means "missing out" and "getting mad about it." Even though you'll be able to watch it years from now unless the world is an irradiated wasteland (and even then, the Disney servers will probably survive and the supermutants can watch it).

they're still treating Zack with kids' gloves though.....

Arguing over comic book movie casting (Hal Jordan) is about as a 'first world problem' two middle aged comic book dorks (Zack and Critical Thinker) could argue about.

People have been bitching about comic casting since I was a kid. People hated Michael Keaton being cast as Batman. I remember the outrage and there was no YouTube right wing grift going on back then. If the Fandom Grift existed back then, they'd have been trashing Keaton in the leadup, no doubt, to Batman 89.

Nine times out of ten, a comic book fan really doesn't know the first thing about actually making a movie like James Gunn or Tim Burton.

I remember the village idiot Heels vs Babyface losing it over Gomez Addams casting and 'not respecting source material' when in fact, Luis Guzmán is much much closer visually in live action than ever before. Heels vs Pronouns, brain dead fool that he is, conflated his take on the character, as causal a causal could get, with 'da source material'. Same thing Critical Drinker is doing with Hal. I remember the older Hal as well, I read a bunch of GL comics as a kid.

I watched his video where he explains the concept. I'm guessing he didn't bother to consult an IP lawyer because here's the gist of what he's said: He knows he's in extremely dodgy territory, so he's decided to do several things to "protect himself."

1. He plans to start with the cover or page he plans to use and hopes to get "fair use" protection.
2. He plans to make changes to these covers by making a collage with random panels from the comics. He'll use this to make his project "transformative."
4. He'll add stupid jokes to get "satire and parody protection."
5. He'll make sure to cover up logos and trademarks, because he knows those are trouble.
If Zack's grasp of the legal concept of fair use is even half as retarded as his understanding of public domain, he's in trouble.

I hope Marvel and DC send him a cease and desist, just to see his reaction. Then watch him stubbornly go forward with the project anyway because he's a sovereign citizen like those guys who don't have a driver's license but hand the cop a laminated pocket copy of the Bill of Rights when they get pulled over. They might not bother of course, but I wonder if they can risk letting a retarded person use their characters in a comic without stopping him.
Media companies have sued for this same type of thing even when the copyright violator didn't make any money from it. The fact that Zack's already raked in over $30k for this might make things much more cut and dry than a guy digitally distributing a remix he did using an unauthorized sample or a fan edit of a movie. I'm not a lawyer, but they might be able to take legal action against IGG too.

This could create the best outcome for cow purposes.
It's loaded with lulz potential. So many different things could reasonably happen:
A C&D could make Richard have to completely shitcan the project and refund the backers.
If he ignored the C&D and published anyway, they will sue him and probably take every penny he made from it.
He could be court ordered to destroy every printed copy of the book he has.
IGG has clear rules against selling copyright infringing material and will ban accounts that do so. One letter from Disney could shut Zack out of his "business".

It would be hilarious if this ended up with Disney suing Zack and Zack having to try and crowdfund a defense against the very company he's spent months fellating.

Yeah, it's terrible that fans who are the customers who provide these companies with millions and billions of dollars in ticket sales dare to have opinions about the things they're paying to see. They should just shut their mouths and meekly pay for whatever the corporations produce without comment or passion.

Once 10,000 is reached, there would be an animated series. July is also planning to start his own streaming site.

I believe the 5,000/10,000 figure is members. Not books.

At a minimum, he's looking for $25,000/$50,000 a month from memberships.

Someone on a stream asked if he could add a membership counter. Which he said he will look into. But I believe he said he's currently at around 1,000-2,000 memberships.

This is where I think July gets into trouble. Where he's gonna expose himself to failure and ridicule.

He should stick to comic books, and concentrate on improving the quality of them (better artists, etc.).

He's doing just fine with that, and pissing off the right people by doing so.

Could you imagine.

*cough* Hey guys, it’s Ya Boi Zack. Now, you might be thinking that *cough* I’m actually pretty fucked here, BUT *cough* just because Disney and IGG are hemming my ass up, doesn’t mean I’m not still in the clear. I know copyright law.

*cough* *cough* Anyways, it’s really the birthday party clown’s fault when you think about it. They’ve antagonized Disney *cough* into being super aggressive with their copyright, they definitely aren’t known for that at all. *cough*

So yeah, *cough* I’ve gotta go get breakfast tacos before Vita wakes up and makes a tweet I miss. Bye.

You try to please EVERYONE and you end up with dreck like Ant-Man 3: Spy Kids 3D. Creators that are well regarded (Tim Burton as mentioned) make shit that is good, period.

Alan Moore in comics, by wide measure more talented than any other comic writer historically, when writing whatever, I seriously doubt he took into consideration internet hot takes from 40 to 50 year old farts. Even if doing some nothing Image comic for a check, he still did his job and would do it well... because he is, get this, talented.

One thing Simple Zack has right, you put untalented people on comics, you get a bad product. Not everyone can write or draw. There is a skill to all this shit.
