Reminder: There was a time when Richard blamed his constant coughing on damage to his face due to a fight he picked with a strong guy while he was in the military. Of course he'd complain about any woman complaining about her husband getting into fights. He's a moron with rage issues. (And unlike the guy in the movie, rather than getting paid for his fight, he was probably at risk of getting written up.)

As a famous character once said, "That's a bingo." Nothing about Zack makes me think he would be a good father. He's selfish, he's stupid and he likes to get into physical fights. It's actually good in one way he abandoned his children, because otherwise we might see something Rekieta-like from him.
