When the old stories run out, Disney can pretty much just make their own ones. Keeping the comics division was a low-risk way to possibly get some extra money and new stories. Keeping comics pros on just barely enough life support money to keep existing is something they're doing out of charity. Now they have a problem in that the pros have made themselves unfireable without serious media backlash. Fortunately for Disney, they are paid so low that the amount of money they're losing for their purchase or Marvel is tiny compared to the money they're saving from not having to pay licensing fees. If this problem gets bigger, eventually Disney will just do a clean sweep and hire a manager that will drain the SJW swamp so to speak (especially since it will be out of vogue by then). Disney is a very money hungry company, and they only care about Social Justice as long as it's cost effective.

Starfire's actress is Anna Diop, and if you look at pics of her outside that godawful costume, you'll see why she was cast; she really is gorgeous.
Thanks for her name, i was to lazy earlier. I agree she is gorgeous and the others are pretty hot too, it's just that marketing has decided that no hot females can exist anymore. HAES bullshit has taken over the narrative, lie to yourselves as much as you want, but nobody enjoys seeing a fatty onscreen - unless they are falling down being an idiot. General audiences want hot men and women doing awesome shit for entertainment.

When the old stories run out...
I agree Disney is IP farming Marvel and paying shit to current producers just to keep it afloat and IF (a big IF) one strikes gold - there's a 500m+ profit from a movie. I'm sure eventually Disney will try the current story lines, but i doubt they will make the same returns. If they try rebooting the Marvel movie universe then I'll be very surprised if they make near the same returns. I don't think general audiences will put up with as much shit (reboots/whatever) as comic readers in such a short time frame.

OMG THESE GUYS BOUGHT A COMIC FROM GUY I DON'T LIKE! GO TO DEFCON 5! PREPARE TO ENGAGE THE BLOCK AND UNFOLLOW BUTTONS IMMEDIATELY!

Get ready for some high quality :autism:. Max “Feast upon my ass” Bemis and Taylor “One Punch” Esposito actually inserted their little beef with Jon del Arroz (Pro-ComicsGate science fiction writer) into one of their comics (Centipede #4):

Nasty Personal Attack Against Jon Del Arroz Appears in Dynamite Comics and Atari’s ‘Centipede’ Comic

John F. Trent, August 2, 2018

Comic book writer and the lead singer of Say Anything Max Bemis, artist Eoin Marron, and letterer Taylor Esposito decided to use Atari’s Centipede intellectual property in a Dynamite Comics published book to attack fellow comic book writer Jon Del Arroz.

In Centipede #4, which was published on October 25, 2017, Bemis writes, “Jon Del Arroz is a never was fat piece of sh**who blames everyone but himself for his ineptness.”

As you can tell Bemis and letterer Taylor Esposito tried to disguise the personal attack through an alien language. Not only did they disguise it as an alien language they also inverted it.

We’ve inverted the image so you can read it better.

Del Arroz wasn’t the only one that Bemis, Marron, and Esposito decided to go after. They also targeted Vox Day’s Alt-Hero comic book saying, “Alt-Hero is a joke.”

Here’s the image inverted again.
RCO0171-e1533216869801.jpg

But this wouldn’t be the only instance Bemis and letterer Taylor Esposito attacked Del Arroz in the comic. They would do it again saying, “JDA (Jon Del Arroz) can’t get it up.”

Here is the inverted image.

They would do it once again in the same issue writing, “JDA can’t get hard unless he complains that SFWA him down.”

Once again here is the inverted image.

For context, SFWA stands for Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America. Del Arroz has been highly critical of SFWA. He even released a press release this past April calling out the SFWA President Cat Rambo for “contempt for the independent author community.”

Del Arroz wasn’t the only one that Bemis, Marron, and Esposito decided to go after. They also targeted Vox Day’s Alt-Hero comic book saying, “Alt-Hero is a joke.”

Here’s the image inverted again.

And in case you thought this might just merely be a coincidence the alien language is translated towards the end of the issue.

We reached out to Jon Del Arroz for a statement. This is what he told us:

” I believe this was done by a rogue individual without knowledge of editorial or the publisher, but the damage has been done and the publisher needs to accept responsibility for their print product nonetheless. This is a terrible bullying attack on a minority creator done with malicious intent to keep ‘people like me’ out of the industry. I’ve got an email into Dynamite asking for a n apology and for their support for my IndieGoGo project Flying Sparks. I hope they’ll handle this with professionalism.”

We reached out to Eoin Marron to get his take on the personal attack.

“Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately I’m familiar with neither Jon Del Arroz nor the personal attacks you mention, could you please elaborate?”

We then showed him the image of where Jon Del Arroz is called a “piece of s***.” He responded:

“Hmm, that is unusual alright. I’m afraid I had nothing to do with the lettering though (and it certainly wasn’t in the script I was provided, where it was only described as alien gibberish), you’ll have to refer to the series’ letterer Taylor Esposito.

My involvement with the issue was complete once I handed off the B&W inks, so colors and later letters were handled afterward.”

Dynamite Comics’ Joseph Rybandt responded to Jon Del Arroz’s email saying, “I’ll look into this and see who did what here… no matter what, this “attack” was not sanctioned by Dynamite (intentionally).”

In a second correspondence he added,

“Ok, well, we found out what happened and it was not know (Sp?) by the major players working on the issue, nor the editorial staff and, it was apparently adjusted for the trade paperback. So, it’s taken care of in the permanent record and I apologize for the harm it may have caused.

Our marketing director is tweeting out your indigo-go as you requested.”

While Dynamite responded to Jon Del Arroz, they did not respond to us. We also reached out to Max Bemis and Taylor Esposito for comment, but did not hear back at the time of print.

This whole segment reeks of horseshit. You just know that pair of pencildicks were behind this, directly or indirectly.

Max Bemis is still writing the current run of Moon Knight for Marvel. This is the second bad optic he’s brought their way.

Bemis is all kinds of weird since it seems their shtick is "token person with mental problems" which essentially means they like RPing as some edgelord "insane" person and it's supposed to be cutesy or some shit. It's like someone who's mentally 11 trying to be Jared Leto's Joker.

I have a story you guys might find interesting. See this guy Fowler was asking for an very large amount of money on his Indie Go Go. To the tune of 50K. I'm thinking he's either a huckster or extremely naive. I started asking around. What I found out is that he tricked Edwin Boyette into reading a synopsis of his book on livestream and then stole the audio for the video here on his Indie Go Go. Making it appear that Edwin had endorsed him when that was not the case. Yesterday, I called him out and today his Twitter account @thezenblaster has been totally nuked. Not only that if you'll check the recent update on this link, he's decided to give up on Indie Go Go.

I find it weird that they go with the narrative that people hate minority characters when basically every one people have made fun of was lower quality replacements for existing characters. Unless I'm forgetting something, isn't the only exception America Chavez? She has nothing to do with Golden Age Ms. America.

Hadn't really thought about it but you're right, other than maybe something like Faith the fat lady superman.

I'd be afraid if I was this dude, that look says she's probably planning to eat him.

I mean....maybe? I'm sure you can make an argument that Faith Herbert is a replacement since she's the 3rd version of the character since the 90s and the original was just overweight instead of obese but that's a stretch. Not that people seriously care about Valiant as far as I've seen.

Yeah I agree, pretty much nobody is even aware of her. I don't know much about comic stuff aside from like Batman, Alan Moore's stuff, and Transmetropolitan. She's just a goofy thing I knew about that I figured got laughed at a bit.

These are the previous versions. The first was how she was in the 90s and the 2nd is after Acclaim bought them as a potential IP farm for vidya like Shadowman. The original isn't that big and the Acclaim reboot is some generic blonde.
