There was also that incident with Jim Shooter of Valiant Comics going to Liefeld's home with a loaded .45 in order to get Liefeld to complete his art for Deathmate Red to put an end to that abortion of a crossover.

Edit: My memory is fuzzy on whether did Jim bring a gun or not.

Shooter was not the guy (he had been forced out of Valiant at that point)

It was Bob Layton and he didn't bring a gun so much as crashed Rob's house and told him he wasn't leaving until Rob finished the book and Liefeld being such a huge fucking pussy, caved because Layton is one of those industry guys EVERYONE loved and Liefeld didn't want to deal with the shit storm of pissing off Layton and it hitting the fan press.

I remember 1992-1994 Image Comics was the worst when it came to that, especially all Liefeld's stuff.

Kind of disagree.

Brigade, Wildcats, Savage Dragon, and Spawn still hold up and OG Youngblood still is decent in so far as it was a good idea that later got executed in far superior fashion in Milligan/Allred's X-Force-Xstatic. And Supreme is a decent take on "jerk-ass Supreme".

As for Donny Cotes; he definately got pozzed by the anti-Comicsgate folk. Would not be shocked if Aaron and Ewing got into his ear to poison him against fans, especially given how hard Cotes has been sucking Aaron's dick since getting Venom in order to ensure he got picked to take over Thor. Running a blockbot and shitting on Ethan might have been part of the audition project for Donny to get said gig.

Disney doesn't give a shit about Marvel Comics, sorry Donny.

Disney actually does, so much as the fact that the lunatic left SJWs like Sana Amanat actually think that Disney will indefinitely keep the company afloat even after they kill their readership and drive down sales to 1-2000 an issue (which they would love to do so since it means the books are only being bought "by the right kind, IE SJW, people". And got smacked down hard when Disney realized this a couple of years back and started forcing Marvel to course correct (which Amanat is fighting tooth and nail).

Ironically, Donny most likely thinks he's protected so long as he keeps writing Venom and giving lip service to actual Marvel fans (Carnage X-Over, giving Eddie a son when most pozzed asshats at Marvel would have given him a daughter, writing Venom as a good guy) he can do this shit. Because Venom is a far far far far far far more important franchise than Thor is these days, in terms of Venom outselling Thor and Marvel basically using Venom (along with Amazing Spider-Man, Star Wars, and the X-Books) to subsidize their poor selling SJW garbage that has pozzed the other comic franchises.

Zoe Quinn's comic book came out today. The people on readcomiconline are trashing it.

Plot synopsis:
Donna Troy takes Xanax and kills the Titans.

I read it in store. She doesn't kill the Titans so much as beats them up (and for the record, she mainly beats up female heroes Raven, Steel, and Miss Martian and only one male, Beast Boy). The only member missing was Kyle Rayner, who is MIA right now along with Guy Gardner

Also, I would not be shocked if it comes out that the story was ghost-written by Dan Abnett (who wrote the Rebirth Titans) or Marv Wolfman, since it picked up where the Abnett run left off and the direction the Titans were going in with relations to Donna struggling to keep the team together. Along with explicitly referencing the plot point of Donna's multiple incarnations via the various Crisises. No fucking way a basic bitch like Zoe Quinn knows, cares, or would put in the thought the book put into, to damage control Donna going evil like this (which is up Marv Wolfman's alley).

Thank you very much for the correction.

Savage Dragon

Savage Dragon has gone down the drain HARD. Yes, there was edgy stuff in it like Dragon's electric powered girlfriend running a hair dryer by sticking the plug up her cooch, but lately it's panel after panel of Dragon's son with the electric girlfriend having freaky sex with a super horny Asian woman who looks like a teenager.

What the fuck???

I mean this would be super edgy/pronographic in the 1990's but after seeing shmorkys work this just seem juvenile

I've heard stories, just didn't believe them till now...

It’s kind of sad when you think about how Savage Dragon crossed over with Sonic, The Maxx, TMNT, and even had his own TV Show. And yet the fun action comic has devolved to Erik Larson’s basic-bitch sexual fantasies.

Savage Dragon peaked around #25 though you can read up through #100 if you want due to the fact that #100 is when Larsen wrapped up all outstanding plotlines that ran from #26-100 after he ended the Savage Dragon/Super Villain Mafia storyline from the first couple of years of the book and provide a decent jump-off point (though also, for fiancial reasons due to lack of comprehensive reprints, as Savage Dragon #102 is a $100+ book due to it being the first appearance of Robert Kirkman's Invincibles

The move to porn was a desperate bid for sales via shock value, plus the fact that Larsen has been getting shit from other SJW Image creators over how he keeps giving Dragon major promotion in the yearly "free comic book day" Image book that is supposed to spotlight the yearly offerings of the company.

Am I the only one who thinks reporting stealing solo to Harrison Ford and Disney is a dumb idea?

I was a little baffled why anyone would bother so I watched the vid. I think he's just mentally ill or infected with liberalisms.

Cliffnotes: PJC's video claims Stealing Solo does not meet the standards of Parody, and that Jeff is a bastard man so fuck him.

I won't lose any sleep over it though. I've looked at some of the reviews and the art is terrible, flat angles in every panel.

It was a dick move, whatever you opinion of Jeff is.

He's been naive to the point of rank stupidity in the way that he handled well-known IPs, owned by one of the world's largest entertainment companies. I'm sure I read somewhere that he had plans to make the comic into a movie. What on earth was he thinking? Sooner of later he would have lumbered onto the radar of Disney's legal department, but why do their work for them? Shopping him to the mouse was a mean-spirited thing to do. Jeff might not be much bigger than two-meters width-ways; certainly large enough to bullseye in your T-16 back home, but that's no reason to do it.

This is looking like the event that will hole Comicsgate below the waterline. The infighting is the worse than it's ever been. The rhetoric is poisonous across the board. Both sides have engaged in deplatforming. Jeff's comes off as someone who tried and failed to fulfill a very well-funded project on the cheap, and who was selective when it came to accepting responsibility, ignoring awkward questions regarding signed copies and other perks. Ever since, he has flailed like a spaghetti-armed Muppet, with his dreadful girlfriend gleefully stepping into the role of Miss Piggy.

The guy who reported Jeff to Disney (his name escapes me) was ruminating on Twitter whether he might have done him a favor. A cease and desist order from Mickey would absolve him of a lot of responsibility. I think many of his backers would be forgiving and the lion-share of the anger would focus away from him onto those who had reported his work to Disney.

Comicsgate, for all it's talk of being a pro-customer, pro-quality, counter-reaction to the SJW incursion of mainstream comics, may very well be brought-down by the greed and the stupidity of a single individual, and by the prolific adoption of a 'no bad tactics, only bad targets' mindset taken straight out of the SJW playbook.

I find it incredibly depressing.

At least Zack's videos are still good.

its a /baph/ or /cow/ move, but actually well within the legal rights of disney and ford. only in japan where companies usually lets other people earn money parodying/satirizing/copying/making new stories of established ip via doujins.

Actually, it may have been in Jeff's best interest if Disney just now issue a cease and desist. If Disney is more malicious, then they can take him to court for trademark infringement or something. their lawyers might point to the WCB youtube channel that it was premeditated to damage the Star Wars brand by making videos lambasting it constantly, then releasing a comic using Star Wars trademarked characters to profit on it. it will be even worse if Ford goes after him for invasion of privacy lawsuit.

But, yeah, no one smacked Jeff and told him that it was kind of a bad idea to do a comics about kidnapping harrison ford and remaking the last jedi

Hey look, Richard Meyer just did a video talking about how TERRIBLE The Last Jedi was!

But... in actual, honest reality, Richard actually LIKED The Last Jedi! Here's his initial candid reaction, before his sniveling cowardly conformity kicked in:

Actually, no, strike that. Richard didn't "like" The Last Jedi... he LOVED it!

A total fraud. No independent thought allowed.

I'd think more of him if he actually stuck to his actual, honest, true impression of the movie.
He liked The Last Jedi. So what? Fine. Whatever.
But he has to conform.

"Oh? The Last Jedi is bad? Ethan says it's bad? Ethan's getting clicks by saying it's bad? Okay, I guess the Last Jedi is bad! XD"
...
"I'm not allowed to mention Nerkish again? Ethan has unpersoned Nerkish? Okay, I'll never mention Nerkish again, even thought I said I loved his channel and was friends with him for 10 months."
...
"I'm not allowed to review Doug TenNapel's work, even though I backed it and talked it up? Okay, I won't talk about Doug TenNapel anymore. You got it, Ethan."
...
"Hey in my little shpiels about how independent crowdfunded comics are doing well, I won't mention Doug, Tim Lim, Mike Miller, or Nasser anymore. I used to nonchalantly mention all those guys. From now on I'll just mention Ethan, myself, Ethan, Jon Malin, Ethan . . . uh . . . Sweetcast, I'll mention Sweetcast, he's totally relevant! . . . and . . . Ethan."
...
"Is that right? Do I have the list right? Can I mention Brett R. Smith, who I worked with last ye--NOPE, I can't mention him because this year he did coloring work for people on Ethan's naughty list. So I can't mention Brett R. Smith--Got it! :-D"
...
"I used to mention Douglas Ernst all the time. I used to talk about how I'd watch his videos and considered them like really profound thinkpieces or whatever. I won't mention Doug Ernst anymore, okay, boss? I won't review Doug Ernst's comic, even though I've talked about Doug Ernst for nearly three years now. I'll mention and review . . . uh . . . Sweetcast's comic, though. That's totally relevant, and you can trust my positive review of it . . . Just like you can trust my negative review of The Last Jedi that I released just now!"
...
"I'm a totally honest guy! I'm YA BOI! You can trust me! There's nooo reason for me to be a bootlick whose opinions conform to Ethan Van Sciver's whims! No reason at all!"

People’s opinions - like people themselves - can change, and factoring things in other people noticed that you might not have may effect that. Just talking about Star Wars alone, I went from hating Phantom Menace, to liking it and the same for Attack of the Clones (I think I’m alone on that one though).

Got my Earthworm Jim box. I say I got the box because there was no book to be found in it (although I did get the goodies)

Doug got back to me right away and they're sending me a new one, so I'm fine with it. Just wondering if anyone else got the box, goodies and protective packaging but no book? Or am I just the weird unlucky one?

I got mine, but that's some bad luck. Sucks that you might not get it until after x-mas now, but maybe they'll send you another pack of the extras.
