how is Kamen Rider hitting 100k defeating CG? He might have more backers but Shane still has more money and that is the point of running these campaigns in the first place. To make money. Tim doesn’t even talk about CG and aside from when people on the farms bring Tim up to Ethan, CG doesn’t talk about Tim either. And as someone who has backed both books, it’s not even a competition because Tim does his own thing and Shane does his. They are both showing new and old creators alike two different ways to succeed.

Perhaps you missed Ethan's unsolicited shit slinging at Tim over the last few pages because someone had the audacity to mention Tim is fucking killing it.

Ethan can't leave Tim's name out of his mouth for a second if he thinks Tim is getting some respect for shit he just can't do like drawing 48 pages in less than two years.

The vast majority of his fans don't seem to care, so why should he? He feeds them reams of nonsense, they nod their heads in agreement, and that's that. Long as his fans are all along for the ride, they'll continue to get ridden. I'm not prepared to say the people who buy ComicsGate offerings are any more gullible than any other group you would select, but they definitely have blind spots. And this is one of them.

Tim Lim, Doug Ernest and Peter Simeti are all outside the mainstream, in fact are despised by it as much as anyone in ComicsGate, all produce books on a regular basis and (as best I can tell) all meet self-imposed deadlines. With no BS and with minimal drama. You'd think they'd be the heroes of ComicsGate, but nope. Almost like you could reasonably conclude drama and BS aren't a bug in #ComicsGate, they're a feature.

A feature of the critics of ComicsGate seems to be this idea that “comic” is an equivalent product, and whomever can shit the most out the fastest “without drama” should be the winner.

One thing that I've noticed is there seems to be a beeline made by the "non-manga people" (for lack of a better term) towards some hamfisted criticism over the depiction of female characters in manga.

Don't misunderstand me. What I'm about to say isn't a 1:1 comparison, because I don't think Cyberfrog is under threat from something like KA the same way mainstream comic sales are from mainstream manga. And KA ain't mainstream manga. Only inspired by.

However, FROG's recent line of argument against Tim kinda reminds me of Gerry Conway's ill-advised spergout over manga earlier this year.

In the instant case, it's like I'm seeing the same SJW talking point poorly gussied up as a "conservative" one (with the obvious red flag buzzwords dropped), and then flung towards Tim. Per Conway, manga artists are sexist and misogynist. Per Ethan, Tim and Mark are creepers. Both digs stem from how they depict their female characters.
