Commonwealth of Virginia v. Austin Curtis Peterson - JA010478-02-00 Assault and Battery on Family Member & GC24002688-00 DRUGS: POSSESS SCH I OR II

Does this mean this rehab facility will be different from the previous one he went to multiple times?
Without disclosing where, due to rat infestation, it is a different rehab facility. This is not just a "sober house" which is what Edgehill really seamed like, but an inpatient facility that doesnt even allow smoking. No "Day passes" to leave on the weekends etc. The facility is staffed with clinicians, substance abuse specialists, and mental health coordinators for managing addiction/mental health complications. They also offer other mental health services, addiction and mental health crisis services, and gambling support to name a few. There is also occupational therapy, and counseling for re-entering society etc you'll find with most state type programs.
Austin is in for a pretty rude awakening I feel, but with him already being sober nearly 30 days in jail, it might seem like such a "nicer place" he'll overlook the structure and maybe get some help. They probably wont kick him out if he acts up (like yelling Damn that pussy nice in an AA meeting) but extend his treatment for the mentals.

If he fails this however, I feel the judge is at a real impasse, as the judge himself has even stated that you dont really get time for the simple drug possession (even though its going over to felony circuit court). The judge will just have to find him in contempt and sentence him for that at this point.

Austin's Case in General District Court has been finalized upon the waiving of the preliminary hearing, and the felony charge has been bonded over to Circuit Court January 13, 2025. It may take a day or two for the case to show up with a new case number in the Circuit Court. Also of note his bond is now with the Circuit Court as well.

His two Bond violations have been dismissed

And his two lesser charges he picked up when being arrested for the bond violation warrants were Nolle Prosqui (not prosecuted)

back chads: we're so

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH'
ALL YOU FUCKING RATS DOUBTED HIM!
THE FAKE FANS ABANDONED HIM ON THE EVE OF HIS TRIUMPH!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Where Nick Rekieta grovels and bows down to the Government Austin stands up straight and screams DAMN THAT PUSSY NICE MRS GOVERNMENT

The first matter was of bond, with the judge needing a reminder why he was in custody for a simple drug posession stating "It takes a lot to even get jailtime for a simple posession". This affirms that Austin's final sentence, if any, will be minimal if not a fine had he just plead out initially.
I'm not a mindreader but I agree that sounds like he's planning on a time served, leaving him with the bond violations and DVs, which might not go as well. I don't think we're going to see something where he gets the previous probation revoked and has to serve some lengthy sentence though.

Probably one of those where they search your butthole on intake and don't let you out unsupervised. Maybe every few days they take a van out to the store or some external AA meeting, maybe you're allowed out to smoke (some places think it's bad to force you to quit smoking when you are already coping with drug withdrawals), maybe they don't even have coffee or caffeinated drinks, and your days are full of group therapy and the like.

I'd assume there's also at least someone there with some medical qualifications, even if they're not a full M.D. They might give someone with serious withdrawals an Ativan or two for a couple days, some weak benzo just to dull the freakout a bit, maybe a B vitamin injection if they're coming across serious alcohol problems, and probably closer supervision to make sure he stays on his meds or does whatever he's supposed to do for his bad brains.

No smoking? Man that’s rough, never heard about that at rehab before. How long is the treatment there?

I hope this is a turning point for him, but I doubt it.

Edit as @lol cow supreme answered this in the other thread:
Current rehab looks like it’s a 28 day "standard" but may extend based on mental or other evaluations.
