In Germany, six politicians of the anti-immigration nationalist party Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland; AfD) all "mysteriously" died within 13 days of each other, conveniently before the local municipal elections in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) on 14 September 2025. German police and German mainstream media has stated that there is no evidence of any outside culpability, mostly likely ruling out murder or assassination. There was also an investigation into the deaths of these six politicians, but two were ruled as "natural causes" and the investigations into the other four were quickly discontinued. Two politicians belonging to the left-wing anti-nuclear Greens and the left-wing Social Democratic Party (SDP) also "mysteriously" died in the state elections. The consequences of the deaths were that ballots to these candidates were denied and must be re-issued. Election committees must meet up to appoint replacement candidates of the AfD and other affected parties and have fresh ballot papers printed.

Update on this post because Welper got it completely wrong.

The UK government have suggested compulsory digital IDs maybe part of their plan to curb illegal immigration. Their internal party PR department saying what can and cannot be discussed in public has said this is something they can discuss. It has not been approved or even been discussed in an official setting yet.
